@Lellojello “Culturally they are Pakistani”

Who told you that?? Where are you getting this from?

IME it would be very unusual for them to be “culturally” Pakistani considering they were born and raised in the UK. It’s not as if they came here as adults a few years ago.

Of course they will share some of their parents culture, but they will also be heavily influenced by the culture of the country they are born and raised in.

A British Pakistani child, is usually not the same culturally as a White British OR a Pakistani child. The same way a Black British child of Nigerian heritage will be different culturally from a Nigerian kid. Or a Polish British child might have different from White British and Polish… and so on.

They will have a mix of cultures and depending on how often they go to Pakistan/their home country - they may well find it a culture shock when visiting.

My Scottish Pakistani friend certainly did when she went there for the first time at age 18. Culturally she is very different from her cousins there and her lifestyle was different too. There is maybe a bit less of a difference in lifestyle if your family over there is extremely rich and can afford certain things, but that’s not the average family.

IMO while yes there are issues with the UK care system and ideally I say it’s best for kids to be with their kin than strangers, in this case their extended family is likely part of the problem.

Their grandad hasn’t came out and condemned his son who killed Sara which shows a bit of his mindset. I don’t think this is an oversight that he hasn’t done this. I believe there’s a reason he’s not spoken out to condemn his son or grieve the horrific death of his granddaughter.

Why on earth would the innocent children have their British citizenship removed ?? There definitely would be an outcry because - as I suspect you full well know - that would be illegal, uncalled for and abhorrent.

Do you have much experience of “third culture” kids /second generation immigrants/anyone from a different culture to you ?

Because this whole take would be considered quite offensive to many. It’s like you don’t view these kids as British at all beyond their passport because they’re not white.

  • because all they've known is life in the UK
  • because the two twin girls need specialist education support for their autism which they won't get in their grandad's village
  • because the eldest son may want to meet his birth mum

I cannot really imagine much of an outcry if they have their citizenship removed and all attempts to treat them as British citizens halted.

Are you for real?

I had to read that bit about their citizenship several times as I was hoping I’d misread it 😵‍💫

Why do you want the kids to lose British citizenship sorry?! I'm confused!

Can see those posts have been deleted now, assuming it was a troll!

I hope it was anyway, wouldn’t like to think there’s many people who have this mindset floating about.

I get the children are in an unfortunate situation but it would be cruel to strip their citizenship as a result.

it’s crazy cause I’m not super maternal and I don’t have kids, but I can’t stop thinking about Sara. The government failed her but they don’t need to fail anyone else.

Kibble29 · 02/01/2025 22:25

Good to hear.

Copernicus321 · 02/01/2025 22:33

I would have thought he would be held under rule 43 segregation.

blueshoes · 02/01/2025 22:37

Couldn't have happened to a nicer person

Anonymousess · 02/01/2025 23:05

Oh wow! And there was me thinking prison justice didn’t exist.

I wonder how the other prisoners knew who he was or what happened to Sara, or who this source of information is. I genuinely didn’t think fellow offenders would bat an eyelid at him.

You get newspapers in prison. They have TVs showing the news too.

Calls/visits from family who tell them.

Prison phones.

Hmm that’s interesting, well he certainly pissed off the wrong people. I wonder if his brother was targeted too.

Isn't Faisal Malik the step mother's brother? Otherwise there is a big age gap between him and Urfan Sharif.

Cruiser123 · 03/01/2025 08:14

Good to hear the news and also good to hear that he survived - I hope many more attacks will follow in the next 40 years.

But aside from that, isn't it a serious failure by the prison ?

golf7 · 03/01/2025 14:54

As I explained previously he is on a VP part of the prison. He was never held in segregation or protected from others similar to him. I did say this weeks ago. He was separated as rule 45 but you still have lots of other VPs with him. He was not living an isolated life protected wrapped in cotton wool. Other prisoners know his name. Some have come to prison after him so will know they have tvs (the case was all over the news) they can buy a newspaper. Again I actually explained this. I really wish people when they discuss things like this would actually pay attention to people who know and not just write things they read online or in tabloids. There's been so much written about people like this which people know to be wrong. Other people commented to the same effect

He isn't fighting for his life . He is not in a critical condition. . Yes he had some stitches . The newspaper articles I have seen can't even get right the names of other prisoners in his jail so I wouldn't take too much stock of the tabloids.

The findings of the inquiry by Surrey County council are out. They tried to check on her welfare on what turned out to be the day before her murder, but went to the wrong address

Let's all say it together:

  • the council are deeply sorry
  • lessons will be learnt

Sara Sharif smiling at the camera. She is wearing a hijab and looking directly at the camera.

Council visited wrong house before Sara Sharif's murder - report

Sara, 10, suffered years of abuse before she was murdered by her father and stepmother.

Anonymousess · 13/11/2025 12:18

If the council visited the right address the day before, perhaps she might be alive now. Crazy timing. Then again, perhaps the fatal injury may have already occurred.

Lalgarh · 13/11/2025 13:18

Just on the radio, "her father had a history kidnapping Polish women"

Oh okay 🤐
