Michael Caine.

Absolutely not. Harry Brown was such a good film.

olivia coleman

Wash your mouth out!

She's a brilliant actress. She was excellent in The Crown, Wicked Little Letters and Paddington in Peru, plus oodles of other things I have seen her in.

Keanu Reeves and Keira Knightley

These two have to be the strangests actors that exist.
Keanu is not a good actor, that is jist a fact, but I can’t imagine anyone else replacing him in The Matrix.
And Keira only pulls faces and shows her teeth in akward ways.

Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe.

Thatcastlethere · 14/12/2024 17:53

PiastriThePastry · 14/12/2024 17:51

Bloody Hugh Grant.

Have you seen Heretic? Hs wonderful in it

BelgianBeers · 14/12/2024 17:53

The Rock is fun but Emma/Daniel are as awful as it gets.

KnopkaPixie · 14/12/2024 17:54

That Keira Knightley was very good in one thing I saw her in. I can't remember the name of it but the character was called Natalie Portman.

RainbowColouredRainbows · 14/12/2024 17:54

Adam Sandler is always cringy to watch, I have no idea how he's so popular

Ellie56 · 14/12/2024 17:54

Yep. Daniel Radcliffe is spectacularly crap. He has no talent at all.

I think he only got the part of Harry Potter because he looked how JK Rowling visualised him.

cocobeaner · 14/12/2024 17:55

Olivia Coleman is great, she was the only good thing about Paddington in Peru!

Nicholas Cage's success is inexplicable to me, I find him awful but he's been in something like 115 movies so somebody must like him...

Hugh Grant is obviously terrible, he just basically plays himself.

WalterdelaMare · 14/12/2024 17:55

Who said Olivia Colman? I think she’s fabulous in everything she’s done.

Keira Knightley. Saw her in a play once. It was lamentable.

I preferred Claire Foy's version of the Queen.

Thatcastlethere · 14/12/2024 17:56

Oh I really like Keira Knightley
People were so mean about her back in the day.. and she was like 16!! That wouldn't happen now I don't think. She was only 17 in Love Actually and the abuse she got!!
She's been in some interesting films. She was good in The Hole and I think she was great in Pride and Prejudice altho obviously Jennifer Ehle is the best Lizzie ever no contest

crowgift · 14/12/2024 17:57

yes to Olivia Coleman
Unless she is cast as exactly the same character every time, in which case, she does it well.

FKAT · 14/12/2024 17:57

Keanu Reeves is super-handsome, likeable, charismatic and can do the most incredibly complicated and expensive stunts in one take with no fear. I don't think we care whether he's not up to speed with Stanislavski's method.

Also Hugh Grant - can't act for shit but that's not what you pay to see him do.

lonelywater · 14/12/2024 17:57

Emma Watson. Any scene she is in is automatically less wooden if you throw an IKEA chair into it.

Haggia · 14/12/2024 17:57

foreverbasil · 14/12/2024 17:43

The cast of Virgin River...but there's also a problem with the script and plot

Also none of the characters are likeable and Mel’s roots drive me insane.

Ellie56 · 14/12/2024 17:57

He's retired now but Nick Berry who played Wicksy in Eastenders.

When he got the part of Nick Rowan in Heartbeat, he was just Wicksy in a police uniform.

Silverfoxette · 14/12/2024 17:57

Jennifer Aniston
kaley Cuoco

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 14/12/2024 17:57

Falseshamrok · 14/12/2024 17:38

Liam neeson plays the same wooden character in every film.

Beat me to it. He's good in Schindler's List though il give him that one.

CalliopePlantain · 14/12/2024 17:58

Ryan Reynolds.

he just plays Ryan Reynolds in every movie he’s in.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 14/12/2024 17:59

PiastriThePastry · 14/12/2024 17:51

Bloody Hugh Grant.

Normally agree but he was really good as the "baddie" in Paddington!

FeralNun · 14/12/2024 17:59

LaPalmaLlama · 14/12/2024 17:43

I think the issue with Olivia Coleman is that she's just a bit overused at the moment- it's as though no other middle aged female actors exist. She is reasonably versatile I'd say other than she always plays middle aged women but that's not really surprising as she is one :-) I really liked her in the Lost Daughter and Broadchurch and the one about the poison pen letters- was slightly odd that her co-star in that played her young self in the Lost Daughter though.

Absolutely. She’s everywhere. As Jim Royle said ‘like shit in a field!’

See also David Tennant. Only I think he is much less talented than Olivia.

Sam as Anna Maxwell-Martin - always gurning.

ohyesido · 14/12/2024 17:59

Hugh Grant had a breakout role in The Gentlemen, to those saying he can't act.

Surprises no one has mentioned Jennifer Lawrence yet
