Those toilet roll dispensers that only give you one piece at a time. End up using more because I scrunch them into a ball. Who ever uses just one piece?

Gift wrapping services. For one present maybe. But all of them? Waste of effort/money, know it goes to charity but you can donate anyway. Get some gift bags!

AIBU?

What do you hate?

Balloons. Can't stand the squeaky noise they make. Someone could torture me by standing in front of me and making balloon animals.

People selling things on Facebook etc. who post a video of themselves wiggling the (usually overpriced and not particularly effective) product at you and tapping their long acrylic nails on it. Just in case you can’t quite see it.

Also - the awful follow-up emails you get from retailer after having browsed a few things online. Worse if they are jauntily personalised - “Wow, Celia! You’ve got great taste!” and “We saw you peeking…”. Yes I was just looking. I don’t want you stalking me by email for the next week.

Yes I hate those "caught you" emails as well! Why do they think that's going to make you buy it? There's usually a good reason I've decided not to buy it after all. Like not having my size, for example.

This!

Especially when it's makes you make a new one every 1-2 months, and they only accept AhsT55z&*$!!!kPS//''pp=dgiHiu"Dh13iu6LguG9ihh!. (And by the time you have remembered it, you have to change it again.)

Yes and this is despite the National Cyber Security Centre saying very clearly that making people change their passwords all the time does not enhance security. But still my employer does it.

Also I hate having to update my work laptop because it has a encryption PIN on it, so I can't leave it to get on with the update, I have to stand over it to put the PIN in when it reboots. And it says an update is going to take 4 minutes and 15 minutes later I am still there!

Incomprehensible/misspelt/truncated/gibberish/ provocative headings on here

BogRollBOGOF · 14/12/2024 07:52

Tail gaters
People doing 49mph on NSL dual carriageways
Middle lane hoggers

People oblivious to their surroundings whether it's blocking the pavement while doing slow formation walking/ shuffling, plonked in the middle of the carriageway to make an awkward turn right (thus obstructing everyone behind wanting an easy turn left that they could have done if everyone is positioned properly or people parking their shopping trolley at the narrowest point next to the stock cage.

"Friendly dogs" a euphamism for "I'm a lazy twat who couldn't be arsed to train my fur baby"

Packaging that requires much stabbing with sharp implements to be able to penetrate it. "Open here" which does nothing.

Packaging that splits apart once you opened it.

Bacon packaging

Drivers doing hippy crack whilst driving. You must have seen those mainly blue nitrous oxide canisters dumped everywhere.. I have witnessed drivers actually doing this. Have the canister between legs, inflating balloon from it then inhale contents of balloon.

They swerve more than drunk drivers.

superplumb · 14/12/2024 08:13

Loud exhausts
Bust shops
People standing in corridors without thr thought of people trying to get passed
People having loud music on in public whether gardens in summer of mobile phones
People speaking on loud speaker while holding the phone. What happened to using it like a phone to your ear
Not saying thank you when holding a door open or letting traffic go
People blocking junctions or roundabouts
Lorries overtaking. They lorry foes 1mph faster than the other so they'll cause a traffic jam while we all have to wait, bellends
People who cough and sneeze into their band..but don't wash it afterwards.
People who say was instead of were
People who say that'll learn him rather than teach
Rich People who are entitled
General entitlement
Laziness
Selfishness
Cliques, esp at work.
Poorly behaved dogs.
Xl bullies. Should all be culled.

Prob have lots more.

mumtotwo11 · 14/12/2024 08:54

People walking round Aldi (other supermarkets are available) coughing their guts out 🤢 and not covering their mouth (said person doing this was with her husband so no idea why she needed to be there 🤷🏻‍♀️)

Being asked to accept/ reject cookies all the bloody time.

Yes, absolutely this. I visit a LOT of different websites as part of my job, and the cookies drive me up the wall. So much time wasted - I wonder how much collective time this has wasted over the years?

I will add, websites that have popups asking you to leave feedback 3 seconds after you open the site. I haven't done anything on the site yet except get rid of the cookie notice, and you want feedback?

No they aren't pointless, it's cathartic to rant.

If you say so

Mokel · 14/12/2024 12:23

People who wear masks on their chins. Why? When I do my groceries shop, there is a couple- guessing mid 80s. Always wear masks on their chins. Never seen them wearing them properly. Even seen them at hospital for my biannual visit to see the consultant. Even wore masks on chins.

Why dc inside the trolley? My toddler is too heavy for the built in seats but it's better than her running off/into people

My 6 year old still fits in the little trolley seat

Yes and even though you've visited the website before.

Marketers aren't allowed to keep asking you if you actually meant to unsubscribe from their emails (though they do occasionally) so why are website owners allowed to keep asking you about cookies.

dynamiccactus · 14/12/2024 17:43

If you say so

I do say so. And I think all the people on this thread and the other one that got to 40 pages VERY quickly agree with me!

BellissimoGecko · 14/12/2024 17:51

People who put their feet on train seats.
People who litter. Especially people who throw fast food wrappings out of their car window.
The smell of cigarettes.
People who are racist and/or stupid.
Sulking
My husband leaving his shoes in stupid places.

Too many to mention!

Mokel · 14/12/2024 19:13

I agree with the throwing of rubbish out of the vehicle windows. The outside isn’t one great big bin.

Why can’t they leave their empty bottles etc in their vehicles until get to their destination or stopping en route (buying fuel, get something for evening meal)?

It's the type of deal breaker behaviour that tells you that person is an absolute C#nt with no consideration given to anything other than themselves.

Example Gino di campio from Sheffield.😂

Yes!!! 😂😂

Pamosonic · 15/12/2024 12:11

Litter bugs specifically dropping fast food wrappers on the street or parks. I don't buy the excuse of there being no bins nearby either. Just carry it until you next walk past a bin you lazy slobs.

Edited

From my experience, its McDs and Red (Chav) Bull that is the most littered. Is there a chemical in these that makes people toss rubbish?

Dunno I notice KFC and Subway rubbish just as commonly as McDonald's rubbish. I just think it's the sort of people who eat junk food. Can't be bothered to make their own food, can't be bothered to take rubbish to a bin.

Lillixyng · 15/12/2024 13:31

People, who stand in the doorway of an empty bus
Poster’s starting a post by apologising for its length
ditto saying they have name changed or proving how long they have been on MNet
Head bands or pierced ears on babies

Mokel · 15/12/2024 13:43

There have been babies who have died because these chavvy baby headbands have slipped down over their nose and mouth.

Another baby related thing I hate. Parents who drape a blanket/towel or muslim cloth over the opening to the child's pushchair. They have no idea that they are overheating their DC instead. As no air is circulated. around the child. They are better off with a parasol or a clip on hood extender.
