Moustaches are hot! (beards absolutely not!)

I’m not sure if moustaches are having a moment but AIBU to find them really really attractive on men, especially when I detest beards (don’t mind stubble)?

  • Tom selleck/ Sam Elliot (oldies but goodies)
  • Aiden turner on Rivals (even Danny dyer)
  • Pedro pascal
  • My fav- Mike Wozniak the comedian
  • Bob from Bobs Burgers …I know, too far!

I think it signifies competency to me, which I find deeply attractive in a man. If he had his shirt sleeves rolled up, hairy arms, watch, hand on the headrest while reverse parking, all with a lovely tash, I honestly think I’d faint!

Beards, yuk! Find them scruffy and hate the feel of them. The ONLY exception to beards is that dapper bodyguard who works for King Charles.

did anyone have the twits by roald dahl read to them as a child? I did and it massively gave me an aversion to beards

LoobyDoop2 · 08/12/2024 00:01

No, ick. Instant clamp shut.

Icanflyhigh · 08/12/2024 00:39

Moustaches terrify me. End of.
They're vile and grim and disgusting.

RaspberryCombat · 08/12/2024 07:38

YANBU at all, especially about Woz. But YABU not to have mentioned Milo Ventimiglia as Jack Pearson in This is Us. He was my first solo stache crush.

Oh op no 😂 sometimes a man is attractive despite a moustache, but never attractive because of his moustache. So decreed I. But I don’t mind a neat, short beard. In fact, I feel personally offended if my gorgeous husband ever shaves his off entirely.
The exception is Burt Reynolds back in the day, specifically Smokey and the Bandit. Oh my. My mum always laughs at me about that one, particularly as I wasn’t even born until 17 years after that film came out!

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 08/12/2024 07:54

Bleurgh. No. I don't like beards ir moustaches, either together or separately. A man might (just about) still be attractive in spite of them, but I just think 'Fgs shave that thing off!'.

SaagAloopa · 08/12/2024 07:55

I'm not a fan. Especially when you can see all the hairs coming out of the skin individually

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 08/12/2024 07:56

I see what you mean.

Godwins Law? @TwoLeftSocksWithHoles

Have you watched the law according to Lidia Poët on Netflix? There are some very hot Italian moustaches!

PinkSkiesAtNight · 08/12/2024 08:12

God no. Totally unreasonable. Only acceptable moustache only situation is November. Horrible otherwise, especially those really thin ones just over the top lip. Bleurgh. With a well-maintained beard though....yes. HAS to be well-maintained. Otherwise...also bleurgh. Stubble....YES!

B1anche · 08/12/2024 08:14

God no! My dad had a moustache. I wouldn't be able to get past that.

Fannyfiggs · 08/12/2024 08:15

Why did I think that Mike Wozniak was the wee round green guy from Monsters Inc.??

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 08/12/2024 08:19

Sunblessed · 08/12/2024 08:07

Godwins Law? @TwoLeftSocksWithHoles

I had to look Godwins Law up.
But Q.E.D!

RampantIvy · 08/12/2024 08:23

I just don't find facial hair attractive. I once kissed a guy with a moustache - yuck.

I just hate the feel of a hairy face.

greengreyblue · 08/12/2024 08:23

Like everything, fashions come back round. As a child of the 70s/80s when everyone’s dad had one, they see a bit old fashioned but I’m 53! My 20ye old DD’s dating someone who had one and she was cool with it. DH and I had a giggle when they went out.

Tangofanta · 08/12/2024 08:23

I think it's a generational thing. As a child of the 80s moustaches were a dad/grandad thing. I find them very off putting! I like stubble or a well groomed beard.

greengreyblue · 08/12/2024 08:24

Though Aiden Turner in Rivals……🔥

WhatDaHell · 08/12/2024 08:25

I love a good moustache, on the right person of course. And it has to be of decent size (not straggly or wispy)

FeralNun · 08/12/2024 08:29

Good God, no. Absolutely 70’s pornstar/Dad territory. They give me the grues. Perhaps it’s an age thing..

Missingpotatocroquettes · 08/12/2024 08:33

My husband has a mustache. He looks good with or without it, although I do admit that I dislike the sensation of mustache hairs going up my nose when we kiss sometimes!

He once shaved it off by accident and he looked like a teenage boy!

Edit to say it's a mustache with no beard! He would happily have a beard too but his job doesn't allow it.

Bananaram · 08/12/2024 08:33

A moustache with no beard, it's a no.
A moustache with a nice tidy beard? Yes please!

DH has had a moustache and beard the entire time I've known him and I convinced him once to shave it all off. He looked about 12, I was traumatised 😳

OpalSloth · 08/12/2024 08:35

My DH has one. I love it!! Also Miles Teller and Chris Evans with a moustache 🔥

Mirenamirena · 08/12/2024 08:43

My DP’s son has adopted a moustache. We missed the opportunity to take the piss out of him about what on earth he was growing above his lip and now it’s been in place for over a year. He’s got the proportions wrong so it’s too narrow, and, coupled with his preferred hair style, he looks rather Hitleresque 🥴

He’s getting married shortly and I dread to think how the photos will turn out or age.

mitogoshigg · 08/12/2024 08:44

No no no, they look like slugs on lipsGrin

Give me clean shaven any day (dh has never had a beard in his life thankfully)
