Mine are

Seconded. We don’t need posts like this.

Crank up heating. Wear a sexy combo of socks’n’stocks (thick socks with Birkenstocks), and multiple layers. Stay in and cuddle my dogs (happiness is a warm puppy, lol).

Blankets on the sofa and beds.
Thick jumper and socks.
Woodburner lit.
Twinkling multi coloured Christmas lights.
Multiple cups of sweet tea.
Candles lit.
Hunters chicken and mash for tea.
Red wine for the grown ups and hot chocolate for the children.
I love hibernating when the weather is awful!

OP, don't listen to dickheads like this.

It's a guilt free reading day. Just got a pile of books from the library.

There are no typos. OP is using Darraghy to link in sound with windy and rainy. It has been done on purpose.

Yes. I'd have thought this was obvious! Some people are dense with no sense of lyricism.
wind-y
rain-y
storm darragh -y.

I'll add to my list a hot toddy. This is a nice recipe

Cups of tea with mince pies and fluffy socks.
Then have to take DS to his kitchen porter job 6 miles away down country lanes and collect him at 11,so that part of the day not so relaxing.

WeArentInKansas · 07/12/2024 12:43

I made a loaf of bread that tastes exactly like a giant teacake. I’ll spend the day trying not to accidentally the whole thing

Jabtastic · 07/12/2024 12:52

I'm sitting drinking coffee and watching the News feeling very happy we have power! We are not rationing the heating either, it's on low but constant.

Plan for later is decorating, lighting the fire and carols, followed by a Chinese for dinner. I have work to do as well but it's easier somehow when you have twinkly lights in the background!

mondaytosunday · 07/12/2024 12:53

I put the gas fire on, now it's December some Christmas music and write my Xmas cards which must be finished this weekend!
If not Christmas time then gas fire on and a nice afternoon movie with some snacks

FanofLeaves · 07/12/2024 12:56

Oh yeah I love getting under a blanket, getting a heavy red wine out like chianti and baking a Camembert, and then light a load of candles and watch Moulin Rouge or Les Mis. Have to wait until the little one goes to bed though.

In the meantime if that YouTube channel where they watch planes trying to land in the wind is on, that’s always a great watch with a cup of tea.

IveGotToGoToMeDads · 07/12/2024 13:02

Peace & quiet which i'm not getting at the minute. The lounge door shut to stop the draught coming in currently it is not shut at the minute as the people I live with think we were born in a barn.
Log fire on, blankets on sofa, snuggled next to my DDog and a pile of books to read plus hot drinks and snacks.

SexAndCakes · 07/12/2024 13:02

I skipped park run this morning and am now in bed with my electric blanket on, hot milk and mumsnet. Hardy I am not!
