Is anybody else unreasonably annoyed that they got rid of the love song to shorten the film. I loved it as a child, its my favourite Christmas film. And the song "the love has gone" is now edited out!

If there was a prize for being mean, the winner would be... whoever cut that down.

The love has gone was always cut out however it’s now available on Disney as the extended version

It's more complicated than that. One of the producers thought that it would bore children, and so wanted it cut when it was released in cinemas. They put it back in for the VHS release, where it proved to be popular. But when it was released on DVD, they used the theatrical edit, and have so far refused to reinstate it for some reason.

It makes no sense, because the song at the end "When Love Is Found" now doesn't hold as much weight.

nope, it was an awful song, boring, too long, an absolute dirge, i'm glad its been cut out.

It was an incredibly boring song and the film is so much better without it. It's my favourite Christmas film, especially without that song.

I went to the singalong version last year & it was included then.

There was some issue with this where they lost the original footage so only had it in some format which wasn’t compatible with tv, but then then they found the right footage and that’s why it’s now on Disney. I can’t remember the details but it was something like that.

As I recall the actress wasn't a great singer. I had it on video when I was around 12, bet a VHS with the full song in it would be worth a few quid now

Yeah I always fast forwarded it when I watched the video 🤷🏻‍♀️ even the incidental bits are better. Every time I see the words ‘Tis the season’ I sing ‘Tis the season to be jolly and joyous’ DD (11) chimes in ‘Fa la La’ 😄

Couldn't help a 'light the lamp, not the rat!' this week, when my mum showed me and the children a very Rizzo-like toy rat in the garden centre 😂

I was delighted when I realized it had been cut! SNORE 😅

Omg thankyou for this!! I saw like two years ago they added it onto Disney+ but every time I put it on it's wasn't there! I didn't think to look on 'extras' I'll be so glad when I watch it now on Christmas eve! ☺️
