Best bed bug treatment London

We have bedbugs! I still can’t believe it. Since June and it’s really starting to get me down!

I posted before and based on people’s advice I called the bed-bugs.co.uk people but they seemed to need evidence of bedbugs and we had nothing but bites - after a clean up we did ourselves.

Cimexa was also suggested and after another big clean up and application went a few days without any bites but now they are back and bugs crawling up the walls and on the ceiling. Every morning find some crawling up from the bed which is against a wall. Can also see on the ceiling random poo from them, like they actually live on that ceiling.

Anyways, anyone can advice a company that is very good and ideally only deals with bedbugs other than the bed-bugs.co.uk?

I feel like we need to properly poison and contaminate ourselves with chemicals to get rig. Not sure how the bed-bugs guys will achieve results with the steam and dust without having to come back (not free of charge)

I just want to cry.

I would recommend ThermoPest if you are based near London, they were able to get rid of the problem first time.

How much did it cost you? Did you have to do much preparation beforehand?

Had BedBugsExperts guy come over last month, he used a different pesticide this time. I've seen no drop off, no difference.

it looks like thermopest use a heat treatment - this is far better and far more effective than the pesticide treatments and I would highly recommend it. You don't need to prep/bag etc. Just get out of the house for a day as they heat the house to a very high temperature.

Yes. Had 4 pesticide treatments and still had some isolated bugs. (in fairness we have a big house and they were well established as the uni kid who brought them home was immune to the bites so didn't notice his bed had actually become something from a horror film. Heat treatment did the job in one go. This was about 6 years ago.

Also recommend this guy.

We paid thousands on heat treatment etc before this bloke. I was attracted by the guarantee. Took 2 goes, but he did it.

2 weeks into the second treatment with Bedbugexperts and still seeing them. I killed 8 over the last 48 hours all in varying degrees of sizes.

What am I doing wrong here?

my husband and i are careful methodical practical people, yet we were unable to manage to get rid of them ourselves.

the heat treatment we had done by this company totally solved it.

i would never try DIY solutions ever again, even products that say they are commercial grade. they just made the situation worse, by encouraging the bugs to move further from the bed to hide.

HEAT TREATMENT solved it.

Did the bed bug expert say anything about why he thinks it didn’t work? Assume he used different pesticide now. The only thing he said to me that worried me was we had mattress on the floor (so no bed legs) and it was against the wall. He said ought to move the mattress away as they need to cross an area where the pesticide is otherwise they just go from the skirting board straight onto the sheet and don’t collect the pesticide. From before I had Cimexa so I put it in there

He basically said it could take upto 12 weeks for them to all die out after treatment because of how their life cycles work etc.

I've killed about 15 over the last 3 days. I just noticed one crawling on the wall above my bed.

All of you guys recommending the bed bug experts aren't paid bots are you? Lol

This is my third treatment with them (2 over 6 weeks, and had 1 last year which didn't kill them either, but was going through some stuff so couldn't call them back again the first time around).

No, not a bot. He solved the problem after one visit. In our case they weren’t widespread.Fingers crossed they go in the end. Sounds like few people have had good experience with the heat treatment, though, if your bugs are resistant to all
those chemicals…?

Annoyingly I've been told by him in all 3 visits that my infestation isn't that bad!

Heat treatment may be the only way forward even if I do have to take out a small loan! I wonder how the treatment will work in terraced housing.

Maybe just keep calling him back given he does the 6 or 12 month guarantee depending on what you chose. Max it out, do keep calling him first and see if maybe eventually they will go…

I’m not sure if it’s possible but is there any chance they are coming from your neighbours? As you mentioned terraced housing.

I did wonder if this was a possibility, but we know both neighbours very well and have done for decades. Asked them about it and neither have any issues with bedbugs.

Called them back again, John is refusing to attend anymore because he says it's coming from my neighbours and there's nothing they can do.

I actually don't know what to do anymore.

Did he treat all of your rooms or just those you knew for sure had the bugs. You said you know the neighbours well, but still, is it possible that either they don’t want to say as it’s still a sensitive topic or possibly they don’t react to them, didn’t check properly and don’t actually know that they have them?

I assume if they indeed are coming from the neighbours heat treatment won’t solve it either.

As a pest controller myself, I cannot comment on previous treatments, but here is some information that may be helpful.

I think its too early to say its definitely coming from the neighbours. To be bitten so close to when you have recently had a treatment done, It will take the bed bugs time to migrate again ( unless your neighbour house has some extreme infestation ). So if your property has been properly treated I would expect months of no activity before returning, this obviously can vary as I don't know the property and what's been done.

When you are spraying for bed bugs it is normal to take between 3-5 visits to get rid of the problem as you are relying on them coming into contact with insecticides and you also have issues in some parts of London with resistance to chemicals, which makes them not effective. Which is why heat treatments are different because it penetrates all cracks and crevices.

If you are looking at a good DIY product try https://chinchex.co.uk/ . Make sure to watch the tutorial videos on how to use it, but when used correctly is highly effective. Focus on headboards, bed frames, mattress seems, skirting, sofas and upholstered chairs etc..

If you are looking to use a professional, I would always get a warranty, whats included and look at a heat specialist, such as ThermoPest to undertake it.

Unfortunately bed bugs are probably the hardest pest to get rid of and often require additional visits.

Hi, it was in one room. I couldn’t sleep in there any more. Interestingly it took us ages to decide to get treatment because my partner wasn’t reacting to the bites.
