Hello all

asking for help to try and find some nice jewellery for 15 year old teen girl.

she won’t ask for anything for Christmas so at a loss. She’s not into charm bracelets, probably something more classy and simple.

spends a lot of time on her phone looking at social media so I’m wondering if there’s brands popular on Tim tok but she wont really tell us anything she likes 😭

every year is a guessing game and sometimes we get it right, sometimes not.
she doesn’t want money. Prefers a surprise.

aibu to ask which jewlllery brands I should be looking at?

tia x

My DD wears her Tiffany necklace a lot, but the prices have rocketed recently

exca · 05/12/2024 08:46

I have ordered my 15 year old a before silver necklace from Monica Vinader, they had a great sale on last week, not sure if it's still on

Greenstonecurt · 05/12/2024 08:47

Beautiful NI brand lines&current do beautiful wear in the shower friendly pieces

Whichone2024 · 05/12/2024 08:49

Oh yes I looked up Tiffany but that is too expensive :/

probably looking to spend up to around £100, with one or two pieces…

she did mention earlier in the year she wants jewllery but when it comes to time to tell us what she wants for birthday or Christmas she will never say 😭
think she’s gone off the likes of Pandora but anything with similar price ranges would be good …
we tried to get her to say before Black Friday ended but got nothing so just decided we have to guess now lol

Could you get her something unique, maybe from a jewellery designer online. I'd be VERY wary about etsy and mass produced crap off aliexpress or whatever, but there are some great jewellers on there and I've bought lots. Not on the high street is good too, and they vet their sellers so you shouldn't be ripped off. Might be someone close to you geographically who you can actually visit in their studio. Google lens is your friend for all online jewellery purchases, just to check.

Olivia Burton? They usually have a money off code if you sign up for their mailing list.

Oh good advice thanks.

yes not looking up Ali express etc.
would rather get her smaller amount but nice quality.

But don’t want to be too unique, she doesn’t like to stand out, but at the same time doesn’t necessarily want what everyone else has.

she has stated she doesn’t like Vivienne Westwood.
when she has bought for herself in past it has been simple and classy.

I've given teens rings and necklaces from Alison Moore with great success - lots of nice silver options, made in Orkney, sort of sea/nature themed.

Oh I like those a lot!
but we gave her something with stars once which she told us she loved but transpires she never wore it because of the stars so not in weary of anything with a shape of something …

Hey Harper has coated jewellery that can be worn in the shower, swimming, with perfume etc and it doesn’t tarnish. Loads of designs from simple and delicate, to chunky and more out there. The packaging is really lovely and colourful.

Whichone2024 · 05/12/2024 09:07

Oh thanks everyone seeing lots of nice ideas (also for myself and other family members)

but this 15 year old in particular i am thinking will like the styles im seeing in Monica Vinader and Astrid & Myiu. (Spelling haha)

I’m a bit gutted to have missed Black Friday sales though!

I bought my daughter a nice pair of constellation/birth sign earrings on Etsy, they look really pretty.

Do you have any independent silversmiths or similar near you? We have one or two near us whose stuff is lovely, and reasonably priced as they don't have the weight of a brand.

Happyinarcon · 05/12/2024 09:15

My daughter really likes the Vivienne Westwood jewellery. I get things second hand and it’s fairly affordable

CocoapuffPuff · 05/12/2024 09:20

Sheila Fleet jewellery is lovely. She mixes metals and enamels. Really pretty and good quality.

mamajong · 05/12/2024 09:21

Monica Vinader do some lovely pieces. DD is not into charm bracelets but loves her pandora rings and also has a couple of pieces from silver by mail

Showerflowers · 05/12/2024 09:25

My dd is quite edgy and I've found some lovely gifts from regalrose. Very reasonably priced too

Abbot Lyon

https://www.abbottlyon.com

Seems to be on the wishlists here for teens/young adults

Rubyupbeat · 05/12/2024 09:40

Monica Vinader Jewellery is classy and very well made. Good for all ages too.
