Hello all

asking for help to try and find some nice jewellery for 15 year old teen girl.

she won’t ask for anything for Christmas so at a loss. She’s not into charm bracelets, probably something more classy and simple.

spends a lot of time on her phone looking at social media so I’m wondering if there’s brands popular on Tim tok but she wont really tell us anything she likes 😭

every year is a guessing game and sometimes we get it right, sometimes not.
she doesn’t want money. Prefers a surprise.

aibu to ask which jewlllery brands I should be looking at?

tia x

Monica Vinader do some lovely pieces. DD is not into charm bracelets but loves her pandora rings and also has a couple of pieces from silver by mail

Sounds similar. She has bought herself some rings from Pandora before (no idea her size as she won’t tell us lol) so I’m staying away from rings.

but the Monica vinader jewllery is looking like something she would like.
Will check out silver by mail also

When my nieces were a similar age I may have gone in to the city centre on school holidays or a Saturday and found a group of girls of a similar age and ask them for help.

Oh and if it is a regular thing if you buy a share in 'Signet' you get a 10% discount on anything you buy from H Samuel or Ernest Jones.

I bought £50 of shares and have more than made my money back over the years.

Sheila Fleet jewellery is lovely. She mixes metals and enamels. Really pretty and good quality.

I would like this for myself :D

Look at House of Alyssa Smith , small but beautiful pieces , she also has a motor sport range , football and London pieces . No idea how to link ! A friend bought me some pieces for my birthday last month .

freezingmytoesoff · 05/12/2024 11:08

Lily & Roo is nice too

mrsfeatherbottom · 05/12/2024 11:10

Another fan of Lines and Current. My teenagers have several pieces from them that get worn a lot. (And I do too)

It’s not a “cool” brand, but Gemporia have some lovely pieces and are usually priced lower than the high street.

They cater for a range of tastes, so some bits are definitely too fussy, but they also have some lovely classic pieces if you look. Diamond huggies in silver for less than £40, black diamond studs in silver for less than £50, lots of delicate rings in gold or silver with a variety of gemstones.

They have frequent sales, and are selling gorgeous little jewellery boxes shaped like baubles (if you want something nicer than their standard purple branded pouch/box).

I’m slightly addicted (😬), let me know if you want a link for £10 off your first order (over £25).

I'd get her something from Oliver Bonas with a gift receipt. They do nice plain bangles and earrings etc.

Whichone2024 · 05/12/2024 12:24

Oh thanks you all so much.

I think I will go with Monica Vader! Can get 20% off and also free delivery. A simple, delicate silver bracelet and diamond stud earrings that will both come to just over £100 with the discount. Feels so special too.

I like that they are ethically sourced too which this particular 15 year will appreciate.

but I have many sisters, aunties and nieces and there are so many great ideas here to suit all their styles!
I’ll be saving this thread and checking back as there are many birthdays in January and February! X

Just a thought OP but will she be going to prom this year? Maybe matching earrings and necklace or another marching set she can wear to prom?

Oh she’s not going to prom but I know someone else who is thanks!

What about a jewellery making workshop? My sister in law took her daughter (same age as your daughter) to one last year and she really enjoyed it. It was a silversmithing one and they could choose to make a ring, bangle or pendant I think.

Oh that’s a great idea and one that I’ll suggest for her birthday! She does love doing things together and birthdays tend to focus on doing.

I agree with Monica Vinader.
Classic and good value.

SugarandSpiceandAllThingsNaice · 05/12/2024 19:18

The usual thing for first jewellry is a large pearl pendant (real, ocean Pearl) on a gold chain necklace and matching medium Pearl stud earrings.

That’s the traditional, classy thing. I wouldn’t go for a designer as they are often varied and you really need to be an adult woman with a style you are going for when buying them.

SugarandSpiceandAllThingsNaice · 05/12/2024 19:20

Oh sorry, just seen your budget ignore my suggestion.

I think the OP's daughter has probably already opened her Christmas present by now...
