Is semi-skimmed milk a left wing option?

Is semi-skimmed milk a left wing option?

Nigel Farage has posted a video ranting about the milk options at a “smart” London hotel - semi-skimmed, oat milk, and almond milk, appear to be denounced as “left wing options”.

He may have a point about the lack of whole milk, but are other milks left-wing? What kind of milk would be a far-right milk? Or Communist milk?

This is the debate that will define the next decade.

Raw milk is difficult to classify- it could be extreme right how dare you curtail my freedoms to stop me killing myself or extreme left wing how dare you allow Big Pharma to stop me killing myself....

MumOfOneAllAlone · 04/12/2024 17:53

I haven’t really been a milk drinker myself, but I grew up in a sort of lefty household and we always had semiskimmed. If I need milk now, I will buy semiskimmed. Nigel Farage is a twat though

I couldn't give a toss about Nigel Farrage's opinion on anything, leat of all food and drink!

For real 😭 he does realise people have allergies? Or that maybe some people just prefer oat milk?

My family have only ever had semi-skinned. I've never liked full fat. Can people seriously tell the difference between semi and whole in tea??

Far right milk is obvs from Jeremy Clarkson's farm.

It's totally left wingers who are sensitive snowflakes.

I can certainly tell the difference between whole fat milk and semi skimmed in a cup of tea! Full fat milk is a too creamy taste for tea.

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 04/12/2024 18:03

Shouldn't he be doing some work for his constituents rather than spending time on dairy product culture wars??
I wonder how many surgeries he has held or letters he has answered since winning the Clacton seat.

HumanRightsAreHumanRights · 04/12/2024 18:07

Whole milk is greasy tasting and the globs of fat floating on the top of a drink or the skin that forms if you don't drink it fast enough make me feel sick.

Skimmed milk tastes like you got some semi skimmed milk and doubled the quantity by adding water and I don't see the point.

Semi skimmed is the Goldilocks milk, not too creamy/greasy, not too watery so it's just right.

I'm not left wing or green though.
I'd say I'm a floating voter with right wing tendencies, although I don't support any of the right wing parties.

He's triggered by a lot of things isn't he?!

Excellent reply

Comedycook · 04/12/2024 18:10

Full fat milk is only actually about 4% fat...and vastly nicer

Poor wee snowflake so he is. Maybe we could get him a warm milk and write him a note to get out of work for…I don’t know…about 4 years?

Skimmed and semi skimmed milk are a con. The best milk is straight out of the cooling tank. I’m a dairy farmers daughter and grew up drinking huge amounts of the stuff. DF drank a cup of milk at every meal. Died at 92

FussyPud · 04/12/2024 18:18

I normally don’t like the taste of the milk alternatives, despite being lactose intolerant. However, to wind that gobshite up, I’m prepared to give oat another go in the hot chocolate machine.

Was it the milk what did it?

Sorry Derxa, it’s an old joke and I was too weak to walk past it

If left wing means choice and not having one option and nothing else, then yes, semi-skimmed milk, and all of the milk alternatives, must be left.

He goes on about being pro-free speech and democracy etc but woe betide anyone wanting the freedom to choose which milk they'd prefer.

Paddymcpaddy · 04/12/2024 18:38

He’s such an absolute arse fuckface. Who gives a stuff! Just drink the semi skimmed Nigel you cockwomble. Are these the big issues he’s bringing to English politics?

We just lay under our cow, Fanny, out the back and squirt the milk straight from the source. Can’t beat it.

Yes i was told this by a woman in the library. I said ' that can't be right - why would ppl bother with low fat if it's that low already '
To which she replied 'well I am a dairy farmer.' That was me told. Where does evaporated milk come on the spectrum I wonder? Or Marvel. Perhaps Nige could start a campaign for these traditional stand bys .

Feck me. The world is suddenly full of dairy farmers!

That doesn’t sound very safe and you’re in danger of being drenched in two liquids that are not milk.

Actually, I have several family members who are dairy and/or mixed farmers…😂

Fabulouslyunfabulous · 04/12/2024 18:49

I agree with @BIWI

SabrinaThwaite · 04/12/2024 18:49

Raw milk is definitely the best for drinking.

I was brought up on sterilised milk in tea, sounds pretty communist to me?
