Apologies if there is already a thread on this?

See attached screenshots

Looks like people have really been waiting on his downfall 🤭🤭

(Obviously, I know it's a serious matter for those who've been victimised by the guy, not being dismissive of them)

Just seems like he's really pissed off his fellow celebs

I've been dubious about him ever since he freely and proudly admitted that he agreed to a baby to pacify his 20-years-younger wife then moved his mother-in-law in to help her so he wouldn't have to be involved with any of the baby stuff. It was so weird, I thought there's no way he's gone through a decades-long career in TV being squeaky clean if he thinks that's an okay thing to admit

I wonder what Greg James will do with his entire file of Gregg Wallace audio clips? Probably quietly brush it under the carpet and pretend it never happened as that seems to be the BBCs MO.

I do like Greg James though and I'll be gutted if he turns out to be a wrong 'un.

I have been thinking this. I absolutely love Greg James and feel saddened they were friends now.
But yes don’t think we’ll be hearing any more sound bites…!

Livelovebehappy · 29/11/2024 01:11

His behaviour, if true, is beyond awful. But I have to say I really like him on Masterchef, and hope they replace him with someone decent. A bit like I used to love Bake Off, then they brought in Alison Hammond, and I just can’t watch it now as she annoys me so much. Just hoping whoever comes in alongside Marcus and Monica is likeable and fits in.

NoVirginiaWolf · 29/11/2024 02:11

I wouldn't be able to watch Masterchef even if I wanted to, because I have always detested him.

I like the fact that Rod had his say. I remember he wasn't afraid to stand up to the odious, thieving Michelle Moan years ago, too, who was also horrible to Penny. I'm sure Penny isn't wet as that makes her sound, just not a match in vindictiveness for the utterly vile Egg Wallis and Michelle Grabby.

Moan is another one that I cannot even look at.

It’s a given that another sex pest at the BBC will be outed in time, it’s not like this is a one off. Out of the long list of celebrity sexual pests/sex offenders the only one I was shocked about was Hugh Edwards. I won’t speculate on who I think will be next for fear of getting a thread deleted.

Confused about where the autism thing is coming from?

It's coming from people who have no idea about autism and use it to describe people who are just fucking weird and unpleasant. I wouldn't say he's autistic- he's nuanced at navigating situations to his advantage and he's progressed far beyond his limited talent - this is almost impossible for autistic people in a neurotypical-centric society. Those who do succeed despite a sickening lack of talent are almost all white, neurotypical, able-bodied men - because they hold all the strings.

He's just an arrogant, hateful fuck as this article shows.

“The allegations were investigated by the BBC six years ago, and my comments were found to be not sexual. I repeat not sexual. Thank you.”

The "thank you" in this quote enrages me, as if he feels he has the right to silence people. (Women).

I hope he is riddled with STDs and has to endure painful intimate procedures.

Lisa Faulkner says MasterChef star Gregg Wallace would tell constant ‘rude jokes’

‘I’m probably not allowed to say this,’ said the ‘Holby City’ star

@pinkmoomin
I knew his second wife a little bit. I am sad to read that she died in 2017 of alcoholism.
The last that I knew of her, she was moving to live on an island, think it was the Isle of Wight. I had really hoped she had found happiness there. So sad.

pinkgrevillea · 29/11/2024 03:28

I remember someone appearing back in the office having spent an afternoon with him and being quite upset by him. She was a woman of his age and from memory he'd been telling her how much he loved sex or something, getting right up in her face and creeping her out.

You know, the kind of thing men like him do to get attention. And yet everyone put up with it for years. I get that he's a creep but it also annoys me that he's been tolerated for so long. A woman would last 2 minutes behaving like that in a professional setting (and yes I know I'm stating the blinding obvious there.) Everyone around him should also be cancelled!

Combattingthemoaners · 29/11/2024 04:21

I have to turn the tele over when this wanker comes on the screen. Something about him always turned my stomach! I am thrilled at his downfall.

LoudSnoringDog · 29/11/2024 05:12

God awful man

JaneAustensHeroine · 29/11/2024 05:27

How he’s got away with it for so long, and yet done so well, is beyond me. He reeks arrogance and unpleasantness. Chauvinism, narcissism, call it what you will. I hope he doesn’t return to the public eye.

malificent7 · 29/11/2024 05:27

I was thinking that Greg James will have to stop gushing over him now. Thank god.

Lostinidea · 29/11/2024 06:04

@JaneAustensHeroine I hope he doesn’t return to the public eye.

Fully expect him to be in I'm a Celeb this time next year.

billysboy · 29/11/2024 06:08

Good for you Rod Stewart and the others for speaking out
unacceptable behaviour and a vile creep
will the people who enabled his behaviour be called out too ?

Worrying1985 · 29/11/2024 06:10

It's probably already come up in this thread so apologies all, but just a reminder of his 'day in the life' article in the Guardian (worth a Google) in which he really does sound like a complete twat.

Worrying1985 · 29/11/2024 06:13

Sorry all, it was the telegraph. Gah. However people have posted it online so you can read it without a pay wall.

2021x · 29/11/2024 06:25

I would be interested to hear an employment law specialist about whose responsibility it was to act on the bad behaviour and what threshold it would have to reach to avoid litigation by the person accused.

I had a horrible boss once who was a nasty bully. Encouraged cliques, intimidation and outright lying to her seniors about the staff. The turnover in the dept was high. I knew that at least of the last 3 people who had left reported the behaviour and I made a complaint to HR, but they still didn’t act.

Was thinking exactly the same @Lostinidea

Even the way he met his wife on Twitter makes my skin crawl.

Illinoise · 29/11/2024 06:43

pinkmoomin · 28/11/2024 23:44

I once met a woman at my local gym. Quite a character and turns out she was GW’s second wife he’d divorced. I got the full story of his awful behaviour and how he repeatedly cheated on her (he even tried it on with their baby’s nanny) and the poor woman ended up having a breakdown. Whilst she was in a mental hospital he hired a top top lawyer to get custody of the kids and subsuqently turned them against her. She also said he had a huge collection of spank mags 🥴

That’s awful! Poor woman. Sounds like he’s a mega c*nt. Not just some ‘innocent’ ill informed comments, but he’s a nasty piece of work.

BackOnTheAntibiotics · 29/11/2024 06:43

Cattery · 28/11/2024 20:10

I knew he was a cunt. I can spot one a mile off.

This. I remember when he was first on the TV and he made my flesh crawl. I felt like he was an AI version of a total perv.

I think the programs about the factories would have been far better if they has someone normal presenting them. It's such an interesting subject but it ends up with him talking down to people or being smutty with the women and saying WOW all the time. It's infantile and puerile.

JaneAustensHeroine · 29/11/2024 06:59

Gregg Wallace has made a living from being a sleaze. How he was ever awarded an MBE I don’t know. For what? His agent (who must be very good to be fair) will have contacted the I’m a Celeb producers by the end of today I’m sure.

SoMauveMonty · 29/11/2024 07:17

I know two things about him - he was 'let go' from Inside The Factory because of complaints about his behaviour towards women, and he once got into a punch up with another man over his girlfriend. He's also been accused of domestic abuse.

Given what's come to light about men like Savile, you'd think the BBC would've distanced themselves entirely from Wallace long ago, and any 'celeb' with any hint of abusive behaviour in their past, whether recent or historical. But no 🙄

Crinkle77 · 29/11/2024 07:23

They've just misspelled his name on BBC Breakfast. Greg not Gregg!

NetZeroZealot · 29/11/2024 07:38

Telegraph has more horrible stories about him.
Making rape jokes.
Walking into the studio wearing nothing but a sock over his willy.
