Well, yes, and I carefully said women and not ‘the women’ to include women more widely who are aware of this but not at the sharp end, but you’re very right to say this definitely includes men.

But that’s why there are so many answers - people in power do report this stuff but mysteriously it goes nowhere so next time people think why bother? And part of that is a substantial number of people in the wrong jobs still think it’s ’just Greg’ (replace Greg with the name of any of the people that get these complaints in any organisation).

I have twice been on trains when teen girls were being sexually harassed/assaulted and all the men just looked the other way. It was left to me, both times, to take action. I am small,.female and disabled. All the men just looked the other way. To me they are complicit when they do that.

On Jungle Club, a private broadcast channel on Instagram, McPartlin has singled out two producers, aged 40 and 24, mentioning their looks or their relationship status to followers. McPartlin, 49, who presents the Instagram show with his sidekick Declan Donnelly , repeatedly references the women's looks, asks if they 'had found a boyfriend yet', and calls one of them 'fit'. He also made suggestive remarks to them about sausages and cake toppings.

Torode will survive this of course but he was right there for most of this. He obviously distanced himself personally for a long time but we have no idea whether he has been trying to get rid of Greg for years behind the scenes, or whether he didn’t really have a problem with it. Did he have the heft to get rid of Wallace and not do it or did he not? He’s in an impossible position around commenting I think.

What I find interesting is that ‘sources’ have gone straight in to suggest that Lisa F is adored by viewers and would make an excellent replacement. That appears to be his response so far.

Personally I liked the low key Lloyd Grossman MasterChef version but I think the BBC would view it as being outdated now.
