Apologies if there is already a thread on this?

See attached screenshots

Looks like people have really been waiting on his downfall 🤭🤭

(Obviously, I know it's a serious matter for those who've been victimised by the guy, not being dismissive of them)

Just seems like he's really pissed off his fellow celebs

It's not just "why don't the women complain" though (I totally understand that)

It's "why don't all the people who witnessed it complain?". Many of them men, some it positions of power.

It takes a lot of people staying quiet to let someone behave like this for so long

Well, yes, and I carefully said women and not ‘the women’ to include women more widely who are aware of this but not at the sharp end, but you’re very right to say this definitely includes men.

But that’s why there are so many answers - people in power do report this stuff but mysteriously it goes nowhere so next time people think why bother? And part of that is a substantial number of people in the wrong jobs still think it’s ’just Greg’ (replace Greg with the name of any of the people that get these complaints in any organisation).

When did it change from "spill the beans" to tea????😧

Gen Z slang. Language evolves.

Sad thing is nobody in the industry seems to learn. Seems like Ant and Dec are making comments to female members of their production team on some sort of live instagram channel. Telling them they’re fit, asking if they’re virgins, etc on the live stream

Someone has contacted the production company who say the staff don’t mind and it’s just banter. The power difference and the need for these women to keep their job doesn’t seem to be considered.

😯😯😯 WTAF. Another pair of cheeky chaps just having a bit of bantz though, no doubt 🙄.

About half the contestants have been men.

It looks like one male member of the production staff has spoken up.

That's it.

Even now.

Those men who were witnesses are not backing up the women.

Exactly. Exactly that.

I have twice been on trains when teen girls were being sexually harassed/assaulted and all the men just looked the other way. It was left to me, both times, to take action. I am small,.female and disabled. All the men just looked the other way. To me they are complicit when they do that.

RedToothBrush · 01/12/2024 09:33

There's still a nasty smell around a few people.

What's rumoured doesn't seem to be too far from who eventually gets canned tbh.

So I am expecting that Wallace won't be the last 'historical' by a long shot.

Lostinidea · 01/12/2024 09:34

@WillowTit "I love dancing, but if I were paired with somebody who liked me then I would have done better."

🤦🤦 Jeez the arrogance. If you can't dance well/lack rhythm then no amount of different partners can change that.

I don't even remember him on Strictly and I can usually recall the exceptionally bad dancers as well as the good ones. Always someone else's fault though, eh Gregg?!

Blimeyitscold · 01/12/2024 09:34

Ugh. That’s disgusting. Just think of the skid marks, apart from anything else.

What’s he insinuating? That middle class , middle aged women over react? Or make the whole thing up? Just don’t have a sense of humour for bantz? 🤷‍♀️

That they don't matter I think..

WillowTit · 01/12/2024 09:40

he has spoken out badly.

Lostinidea · 01/12/2024 09:43

From the DM.
More "harmless banter" no doubt 🤢🤢

On Jungle Club, a private broadcast channel on Instagram, McPartlin has singled out two producers, aged 40 and 24, mentioning their looks or their relationship status to followers. McPartlin, 49, who presents the Instagram show with his sidekick Declan Donnelly , repeatedly references the women's looks, asks if they 'had found a boyfriend yet', and calls one of them 'fit'. He also made suggestive remarks to them about sausages and cake toppings.

EmotionalSupportPotato · 01/12/2024 09:44

Itissunnysomewhere · 01/12/2024 09:23

I had a swim coach who constantly tried things on with the girls in the team. I absolutely feel that his colleague who watched all his behaviour and did nothing was basically just as culpable.

If Torode knew all of this and continued to work on the show then he has questions to answer too.

Fair point. Well made.

Oh for goodness sake. Well he's got to go now.

If Torode knew all of this and continued to work on the show

I just can't for the life of me see how he couldn't, it seems to have been such an open secret and his silence isn't helping.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 01/12/2024 09:51

I think that , regardless, saying that the complaints are just "from a few middle class women of a certain age" is so stupid that he's just added to his troubles.

🙏🙏 Strange how the DM has started to turn a little bit when they supported him in the past, even with the DUI stuff he reminded a "national treasure". Wonder if the others will follow now. And what else they might know.

Torode will survive this of course but he was right there for most of this. He obviously distanced himself personally for a long time but we have no idea whether he has been trying to get rid of Greg for years behind the scenes, or whether he didn’t really have a problem with it. Did he have the heft to get rid of Wallace and not do it or did he not? He’s in an impossible position around commenting I think.

What I find interesting is that ‘sources’ have gone straight in to suggest that Lisa F is adored by viewers and would make an excellent replacement. That appears to be his response so far.

Not really sure who the core audience is of masterchef but I imagine a lot of them are also middle class women

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 01/12/2024 10:05

Exactly

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 01/12/2024 10:06

But it also shows that he is ageist, which isn't politic in itself.

Lostinidea · 01/12/2024 10:09

I would like to think that JT at least tried (and would think a lot more of him if he did) but if that was the case you'd think he'd have publicly stated it by now.

That's very fishy about the sources and Lisa Faulkner. Don't they already do cooking shows together on ITV.
Personally I liked the low key Lloyd Grossman MasterChef version but I think the BBC would view it as being outdated now.

MumOfOneAllAlone · 01/12/2024 10:16

Omgg I'm scrolling through his Instagram stories

He's gone full schofield! How long until we hear his pr/management company have parted ways with him?

Why has this all come out now though, why not before

It is strange when accusations and concerns about his behaviour have been in the public arena since 2011 and he's widely joked about online as being a creep. What has happened now to take the action now? Either the beeb are hiding something, deflecting from something, or the worst of the allegations hasn't yet surfaced.

Yeah there's much worse to come.
I suspect racism, more groping, and torpedioing a middle aged woman's career. Nasty
