To want the tea on Gregg Wallace? 👀👀👀

Apologies if there is already a thread on this?

See attached screenshots

Looks like people have really been waiting on his downfall 🤭🤭

(Obviously, I know it's a serious matter for those who've been victimised by the guy, not being dismissive of them)

Just seems like he's really pissed off his fellow celebs

I think that day in the life piece he did where he played with his son for about two minutes in a while weekend did it for me

HashtagShitShop · 29/11/2024 10:37

I saw a little bit of his response to the sexual comments and making people uncomfortable yesterday and it boiled down to "whatever they're saying about me, not one of them has come out and said i cheated on my wife. I'm obsessed with my wife. I love her so much, id never cheat in her"

Totally and likely purposely missing the point and hoping to blur the actual issue out that whilst he might not have physically cheated he's still behaved completely inappropriately and made numerous people deeply uncomfortable at being in his presence. (and not just the poor unfortunate viewers....)

It's also interesting he's making it out like he's stepping back to help his wife with their autistic son.

... The son he only agreed to try for if he was guaranteed at least one child free holiday every year.

It's like John Barrowman always getting his knob out on set: everyone knew, nobody "covered it up" because nobody thought it needed covering up (pun not intended).
Lots of people were inwardly unhappy, but nobody stepped back and said out loud "actually this behaviour, though probably legal, is completely unacceptable in the workplace".

Is it legal? Isn't it flashing? Or is that only a crime outdoors/in public? I think if I was working with a man who did that I'd see it as an offence worthy of being reported to the police. (Although I completely take the point that people very reasonably don't report it or complain at all, if they know they'll be ignored or made to suffer while the perpetrator won't.)

A work colleague literally showing you his penis against your will should be considered at least as bad as an unsolicited dick pic.

"Flashing" is only a criminal offence if the intention is to cause alarm or distress. A man taking all his clothes off and sprinting across the court at Wimbledon for example wouldn't count. A man jumping out from behind the bushes in the woods, or exposing himself to you when you're alone in a lift together would.

Barrowman's tedious jokes should be a sacking offence in the workplace, but wouldn't be criminal because the intention plausibly was just to make people laugh and think "oh, that John, he's such a character"/ or, less charitably, as an expression that he's the Alpha Male on set and doesn't have to play by the rules.

All the daily mail comments are like, ‘why didn’t they say something at the time’ and if you write anything against Greg or supporting people reporting then they remove it.

Cocolapew · 29/11/2024 11:02

I would have loved to watch Inside The Factory but couldn't because if him.
I was on a flight from London to Belfast once, as I was standing up to deboard there was a bloke at the front grinning at me, it was actually John T. I said to DH who is that do we know them. His reply was it's one of those cunts from Masterchef 😁

Itissunnysomewhere · 29/11/2024 11:28

HothouseFlower · 29/11/2024 10:02

Yep, exactly. And it's bad enough trying to do this at office level. Throw in a so-called "celebrity" plus the huge weight of an institution like the BBC and you can see why many women don't pursue it, especially those on short-term/freelance contracts.

I think everyone can understand why the victims of this behaviour don't complain. But there were so many other witnesses that were clearly aware. There does need to be a conversation around that. Either there were thousands of reports that were ignored, or a lot of people witnessed awful behaviour towards women and stayed quiet

SharpOpalNewt · 29/11/2024 11:29

I think a lot of times they did complain - at least amongst themselves about what a twat he is.

EmotionalSupportPotato · 29/11/2024 11:36

Coolblur · 29/11/2024 09:46

I'm not a fan of Masterchef, a lot of which is because of dislike of the man in question, but I didn't mean to be disrespectful to the contestants or anyone else who works on the show. For the BBC to break a story like that about the presenter of a prime time programme, then broadcast that show the same evening seems in poor taste. I hope they heavily edit the rest of the series to remove Gregg's bits

In all honesty they probably just want to get the series over and done with. But yes if they can remove him that would be great. He doesn't add much just gurns.

Conniebygaslight · 29/11/2024 11:42

In my experience, men that are the overly gregarious (no pun intended) life and soul of the party turn out to be dodgy sex pests.
They hide their predatory behaviour behind ‘great fun guy’ personality.
seen it time and time again.

CocoapuffPuff · 29/11/2024 11:51

I have a tiny insight into this man.

My friend and I were at the Good Food exhibition at the SECC in Glasgow years ago, and were sitting at a table in his pop up restaurant eating lunch. He walked from behind me, so I didn't see him coming. He totally ignored me (thank fuck) and instead aimed at my gorgeous blonde viking goddess friend.

The hand went straight to her shoulder and caressed it lingeringly as he walked slowly past our table.

Not a word was said.

We both sat gobsmacked. No, he didn't touch her boob or her bum, but he might as well have. He had absolutely no qualms about touching a stranger in what was quite an intimate way.

Creep.

Badburyrings · 29/11/2024 11:56

Lwrenn · 28/11/2024 21:39

if you watch this clip, the way he just pretends what he’s said was innocent to make the contestant feel stupid makes me rage.
Fuck off Gregg, you said it to make her uncomfortable.

Yuck.. 🤢 what a total sleaze bag

ElaborateCushion · 29/11/2024 12:22

I keep checking a friend's facebook page to see if she says anything as she's worked behind the scenes on a few series of MC now. Nothing so far - I'll report back if she does!

He sounds horrendous. I've always felt a bit weird about him and now I know I can trust my spidey senses!

BustingBaoBun · 29/11/2024 09:42

Yes John Torode stood by whilst it all went on. It wasn't one isolated incident, it was continual !

I have no idea why BBC stick with the same old same old presenters.

Yes, its understandable why crew/contestants feel they have no voice - NDA threats and career threats are effective intimidation.

Its not understandable when other top talent stand by and let it happen. They are not vulnerable in the same way and they do have a voice.

CocoapuffPuff · 29/11/2024 12:36

I can only assume, when other presenters etc stand by and watch things happen without intervening, that they're okay with it. Maybe even enjoying it. They're obviously not bothered by it.

Matformouse · 29/11/2024 12:37

Katieg27 · 28/11/2024 21:45

I went to uni with the girlfriend of his son and she was invited on a family holiday but Gregg told her she'd have to lose weight and look good in a bikini as he wasn't wasting money on a holiday looking at her like that! She was a size 10 and in her early 20s! Vile man!

😯 Goodness. I hope his son has turned out better.

C8H10N4O2 · 29/11/2024 12:39

Just waiting for the announcement that he has checked into the Priory for his "mental health" and the "poor me I was so stressed, I'm the real victim here" storyline. That is usually stage two of the predator handbook after their behaviour becomes public knowledge.

UrbanFan · 29/11/2024 12:41

I've always thought he was horrible. Turns out I was right. Never understood why he was on telly at all.

NetZeroZealot · 29/11/2024 12:42

What is the difference between GW and JB from the Repair Shop? Why has JB been edited out of all the future programmes, while we still have to see GW’s ugly gurning face?

I’ve never seen anything that explains these sorts of situations that this sketch. (Warning, contains a creepy representation.)

Edited

That is a sad and bloody excellent satirical skit.

XmasNameChangeFail · 29/11/2024 12:54

There are so many men on primetime TV that you can spot a mile off are creeps. Arrogant, entitled, unlikeable. The sort of man most women would clock straight away and avoid.

It’s so obvious other men like them, in positions of power, who recruit in their own image, is why we keep seeing these creeps on our screens.

When will it stop?

RedToothBrush · 29/11/2024 12:56

Monica looks to have come out for Team Egg.

Meanwhile:
Ulrika Jonsson, who appeared on Celebrity MasterChef in 2017, today claimed a female contestant was hugely upset by Wallace's 'rape joke' which caused another person to storm off set and complain to their bosses.

'They then went off to speak to Gregg. After a while he came up…and he apologised. He could hardly get his words out. He was apologising, and he had tears in his eyes', she said.

But she added: 'The apology should have been to everyone. It felt like, you know, 'don't make the joke in the first place' and said she 'definitely' felt uncomfortable on set following his joke.

Today Aggie Mackenzie, presenter of 'How Clean is Your House' who was also on the 2011 series of celebrity MasterChef, said Wallace 'behaved like a sort of Sid James character' who would tell sex jokes and 'swagger around and do as he liked'.

I think there will be more yet.

SassK · 29/11/2024 12:57

I don't think I've ever watched anything he presents, I might have saw the factory program once or twice.
The inevitable trial by social media appears to be in full swing though. I struggle to see why anyone would give a fuck about some guy telling jokes his crumbly BBC colleagues didn't like. That said, I struggle (fortunately) at the best of times to relate to the frothing at the mouth hatefest that defines SM.

Yup. I really hope Gino D'Acampo isn't a twat.

Why was JT grinning at you Coco?
Are you recognisable? 🤓
