Can I ask about men who are always clean shaven?

Does anyone else have an adult DS who has always been clean shaven and never grown a beard, even if they have the ability to do so?

OP posts:
Bluelane · 27/11/2024 22:55

I don’t have an adult DS but I do have an adult DH who has never had facial hair.

AudiobookListener · 28/11/2024 07:42

I thought this was most men. Men with beards etc. are the minority aren't they?

RosesAndHellebores · 28/11/2024 07:45

Er yes. And a DH.

Chasingsquirrels · 28/11/2024 07:45

I work with a number of 20-30 men in a professional office situation, and I'd say it is 50/50.

Edit: having had a rough count I'll amend that to 60 (shaven) / 40 (beard).

Bigearringsbigsmile · 28/11/2024 07:47

Yes. I. Have a husband and 2 adult sons. All clean shaven.

Which is good because beards remind me of Mr twit🤢

Pinkpurpletulips · 28/11/2024 07:48

Yes, I do. One son has always been clean shaven. The other one experimented a bit with stubble. Neither have attempted a beard. A photograph from the Dark Ages of their father rocking a rather awful moustache may have had something to do with it.

ZippyLilacStork · 28/11/2024 07:50

I have a clean shaven DH - never seen him with more than a days growth in 25 years.
I have two clean shaven brothers and a clean shaven father.
However I have a beardy adult son with a set of beardy friends - so in my experience older men are more likely to be clean shaven and younger men have beards.

MagpiePi · 28/11/2024 07:54

Why do you ask OP?

Sethera · 28/11/2024 07:54

DH is clean shaven, thank goodness. I get tired of seeing identikit beards everywhere.

HoppingPavlova · 28/11/2024 07:54

Nope. All of mine and DH are hairy bears. They all have facial hair and have done since teens when it started coming in, some also have long hair, some have short but none are fond of the razor🤣.

A funny thing that will always stay with me, we went to some outdoor concert and some guy tried to get past one of my sons from the back. My son (over 6’ but admittedly very slim) had his hair in a top knot. He put his hands on my son’s waist and said ‘excuse me love’ to get past. My son, with absolute full beard - and I’m talking really full beard - turned around, confused, and went ‘eehh?’. I was pissing myself for an hour over the look on the guys face. It was like a horrid fascination, priceless.

bifurCAT · 28/11/2024 07:55

My best friend, who's 40, would struggle to grow a beard even if he left it for a month.

It depends on the man you ask. Some hate shaving and would kill for less maintenance, others would love the beard.

mitogoshigg · 28/11/2024 07:58

No beards here, dsd's do does have one though and dd2's dp dabbles, (he likes it she doesn't), dd1's dh is clean shaven of face and head!

Not any more, unfortunately

I'm also curious lol.

I'd say the opposite!

Abi86 · 28/11/2024 08:06

Ummm….me. I’m a clean shaven male…both an H and a DS. What’s your question/point?

soupfiend · 28/11/2024 08:07

Too many beards around these days, horrible things.

Oh, dear. I agree with your "unfortunately".

What about the ones with a bit of stubble. It's not just either a full beard or clean shaven.

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 28/11/2024 08:12

If my DH ever shaved his, I wouldn't be able to look at him until it grew back. It's only about a cm growth but he turns into a boy without it! I like 'em rugged 😁 he was clean shaven when we met and handsome as hell but much prefer the beard. Wouldn't let him have a smelly beard though, got to keep on top of the hygiene to have one.

Both teens have hairy legs but nothing on their faces yet, not mentally prepared to see them with beards yet but would also be interested to see how it suits them.

Clearly times have changed and I haven't noticed.

Pamosonic · 28/11/2024 08:14

My husband couldn't grow a beard even if he wanted to. He just doesn't get any stubble down the sideburns.

Lucky you! I can’t stand it- feels like you’re kissing a cheese grater!

Dotjones · 28/11/2024 08:29

Most men don't have beards, thankfully. This thread reminds me of the "men with beards" song

Men with beards, what are they hiding?
Could I handle the truth if they chose me to confide in?
Or would my dead body be found down a railway siding?
Where I'd been murdered by a man with a beard

MaggieBsBoat · 28/11/2024 08:31

Both mine and DH are bearded. I always think clean shaven men look like they are half-formed in a weird way and not manly enough! 🤢
