Can I ask about men who are always clean shaven?

Does anyone else have an adult DS who has always been clean shaven and never grown a beard, even if they have the ability to do so?

Both mine and DH are bearded. I always think clean shaven men look like they are half-formed in a weird way and not manly enough! 🤢

I read that as a brave declaration of hirsuteness, that ‘Me and DH are both bearded’.😀

I’m not sure why you seem to be asking about clean-shaven men as though they’ve made some kind of unusual minority decision, OP.

If I was a man who could grow a beard, I would 100% have a beard. I can't be arsed shave my legs there would be zero chance of me shaving my face everyday!

I have more beard than my H!

We are a military family, so most of the men I know are clean shaven. Only time I have known my H have a beard was when he was having a mental health crisis. I knew he was getting better when the beard went!

This just made me realise I only know one man who's routinely clean shaven! Not that it's my business but I think men just look better with some facial hair, even if it's very short.

I shave every day. I last had a beard thirty years ago and it lasted no more than a month. At my last workplace, beardless or stubble-less men were definitely in the minority and some of the beardy boys were barely out of school. It appears to be more fashionable among youngsters now than when I was a young man. I'm not a fan of facial hair but I'll keep that to myself, provided it looks tidy. On the other hand, stubble just looks plain scruffy.

My husband is clean shave , he occasionally grows a moustache which I hate.

Auburngal · 28/11/2024 13:31

My DF is always clean shaven. Doesn't like the feel of stubble on his face.

One time he had to have skin graft on his face which was covered up for a 7-9 days and it drove him mad only allowing to shave the exposed part of face.. On the way home from hospital after having the bandages off, he went into a barbers and got a hot towel shave. Otherwise people would gave him odd looks to why he is bearded one side and not the other.

I don't mind beards if they are maintained. Unkempt beards are horrid.

One always clean shaven, one usually bearded.

MagpiePi · 28/11/2024 13:40

I wonder what has happened to the OP?

Westfacing · 28/11/2024 13:44

I have two adult sons who've never had beards but did once briefly have moustaches for Movember - not a good look on either!

LimeYellow · 28/11/2024 13:44

I have a DH and a young adult DS, neither have ever had a beard.

GridlockonMain · 28/11/2024 14:08

Surely this isn’t unusual?

MereDintofPandiculation · 28/11/2024 14:14

I’m attracted to bearded men and have to remind myself even men with beards can be prats (though less often than clean shaven Grin)

TwistedWonder · 28/11/2024 14:36

My adult DS doesn’t shave often enough but has never grown a beard. His hair is so dark it really shows if he doesn’t shave for a day or two.

Personally I’m not a fan of facial hair. I’ve never dated anyone with a beard

LlynTegid · 28/11/2024 14:37

All the men in my family.

PumpkinPie2016 · 28/11/2024 21:32

My husband is always clean shaven - at most, he would go a day without shaving.

My dad has a neat moustache, but is otherwise clean shaven.

My brother is always clean shaven but he is in the military, so not much choice 😂

I don't think it's particularly unusual?

mrlistersgelfbride · 28/11/2024 23:27

Can't answer your question but just realised my father has had a beard for as long as I've been alive, my brother often has one and my partner definitely doesn't shave everyday.
I much prefer clean shaven men myself.
