To want to go back to the room early?

I’m going to London with two friends mid-December, they have booked a late afternoon boozy brunch and then Winter Wonderland. Then they want to continue drinking after this and have mentioned clubbing.

I absolutely do not want to do this. I want to go to WW, have a drink afterwards maybe but I don’t want to go clubbing and I just want to go back to the hotel. We’re sharing a room so there’s not much pint going back to sleep, I just don’t want to look like a misery.

Not in a city, and in the North

"the North" isn't very helpful, but there have been Winter Wonderlands in Manchester, for example, since 2013 and Newcastle since 2014...

I wouldn’t want to go clubbing either! It would be my absolute worst nightmare! You are absolutely entitled to do entirely as you wish. I’ve spent so much of my life people pleasing and doing things I don’t want to do but I have finally (at the age of 54) got to the point where I do what I want to do. So just make it clear to them before you go that you won’t be going clubbing and that you want to do XYZ And give them time to come to terms with your plans so that there are no surprises on the night. Enjoy the rest of the evening with them. XX.
