My dh was agog at them . They are just plain weird .

HappiestSleeping · 21/11/2024 22:32

Those shelves obviously contain all the books he's read about being a good prime minister.

IAm16StoneHalloween2024 · 21/11/2024 22:34

Urgh Wut?

Annonymiss123 · 21/11/2024 22:34

I just presumed it was a fake background.

DrZaraCarmichael · 21/11/2024 22:35

I remember during covid looking at what people had on their shelves was quite a thing.

NO idea what message Mr Blair was trying to send. Very odd.

It’s just different print editions of Machiavelli.

username358 · 21/11/2024 22:35

They are ledgers of all the dead Iraqi's.

DrZaraCarmichael · 21/11/2024 22:35

With the gold it looks like a shop, you'd expect a pair of shoes on each shelf or something.

😂 😂 😂

niadainud · 21/11/2024 22:36

That is bonkers.

mossylog · 21/11/2024 22:36

He's asked an intern to quickly put up some books on the empty shelves behind him before the call, and these were all the readers digests they could find in three minutes

AdoraBell · 21/11/2024 22:36

I hadn’t realised they were book shelves, very strange.

CurrentHun · 21/11/2024 22:36

Can someone explain this to me please. Looks like a fake background you get on Zoom. Or maybe he took sparking joy a bit too seriously. It’s sad that John Prescott has died though. RIP Prezza. They don’t make them like him any more.

Abstractthinking · 21/11/2024 22:37

Reminds me of the "Rest is entertainment" podcast talking about bookshelves. This has got to be the wierdest arrangement. Hilarious, well worth a listen.

FiveFoxes · 21/11/2024 22:43

Thank you for this thread. These shelves are crazy! Why? Just why?!

DrZaraCarmichael · 21/11/2024 22:44

And agree - I totally missed what he was actually saying about John Prescott because I was too busy wtf-ing about the shelves.

DiscoBeat · 21/11/2024 22:45

I saw that too. I assumed he has a rather quirky sense of humor!

HateThese4Leggedbeasts · 21/11/2024 22:47

I assumed it was a fake (but odd!) background that you get on teams/zoom calls. It's a privacy measure.

KnickerlessParsons · 21/11/2024 22:47

Also, what is behind the bookshelves? Zooming in on the gap isn't helping.

NigelHarmansNewWife · 21/11/2024 22:48

I thought it looked like it wasn't in his home, more like it was an office building. There were pillars between the bookshelves, but not a solid wall, and you could see there was a room/space behind them

Sneezeless · 21/11/2024 22:52

The gap on the left looks a bit like someone naked bending over and you can see the curve of their buttocks. That might just be me though.

Ichibangerbera · 21/11/2024 22:54

He is in his wardrobe and he has had to replace his shoes with books otherwise he’ll look weird.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 21/11/2024 22:55

Has he moved into a derelict Sports Direct?

Yes, the ‘Is Richard a Psychopath?’ episode. (Yes, he is — I’m with Marina. Well-adjusted people don’t colour-code their book collections!)
