Has he moved into a derelict Sports Direct?

I thought it was more of a Debenhams or BHS vibe.

It's all those Gideon's he's nicked from various hotel rooms.

padampada · 21/11/2024 23:02

Is he showing off some collectable first additions? Very weird.

With the gold it looks like a shop, you'd expect a pair of shoes on each shelf or something.

I was just about to say the same thing. Looks like it should have Nikes behind him.

GinToBegin · 21/11/2024 23:04

Stunt books. Bet he and Cherie have a stunt pineapple in the kitchen, too.

rockstarshoes · 21/11/2024 23:10

I noticed it because it was on GMTV straight after Ed Balls paid tribute to John Prescott!

I went from oh what a lovely family kitchen to WTF!

I wondered if ir was at his institute

KnickerlessParsons · 21/11/2024 22:47

Also, what is behind the bookshelves? Zooming in on the gap isn't helping.

I think that's a shiny metal surface rather than a gap.

The scant book placement is very pretentious.

candycane222 · 21/11/2024 23:17

Are the books just weighting down the new shelves while the glue dries?

SocksAndTheCity · 21/11/2024 23:18

I thought they were model trains, but I wasn't paying attention and my eyesight is shit 😀

Yes, the ‘Is Richard a Psychopath?’ episode. (Yes, he is — I’m with Marina. Well-adjusted people don’t colour-code their book collections!)

I think he was a psychopath for ordering by size. Both of the agreed colour sorting was crazy.

Surely they will comment on tBlair's shelves. They are mental.

KnickerlessParsons · 21/11/2024 23:22

Hmmm. I think it's a gap but you could be right it's a gap

AnImaginaryCat · 21/11/2024 23:23

Actually maybe Blair is locked in and has been burning books to keep warm. Did he try to give any signals during the broadcast?

SallyForf · 21/11/2024 23:23

Those volumes are Readers Digest condensed books.

<meow>

Turmerictolly · 21/11/2024 23:34

I reckon it was Cherie's shoe rack. The gold panelling is a bit incongruous.

Neighbours87 · 21/11/2024 23:34

It looks like a hotel or fancy office building. He was probably travelling and had to zoom in.

So you really think there is a 1" gap around each unit whereby you can see into a brightly lit room behind and therefore the wall of each shelving 'cabinet' is the thickness of cardboard?

Or is it more likely to be a shiny reflective metal surface perhaps 🤔

Dibbydoos · 21/11/2024 23:47

So he's got his books horizontal rather than perpendicular and you have an issue with it, thinking there's a message in it? Wow!

Anyone who has an issue with this lacks imagination and probably critical thinking. If it works better for them to see titles, it works better for them - they certainly don't need book ends to hold the books in place do they?

TerryMeetsJulie · 22/11/2024 00:05

peanutbuttertoasty · 21/11/2024 22:35

It’s just different print editions of Machiavelli.

Too true...

RedR1ghtHand · 22/11/2024 00:18

I reckon it's a feng shui thing of Cherie's.

Sneezeless · 21/11/2024 22:52

The gap on the left looks a bit like someone naked bending over and you can see the curve of their buttocks. That might just be me though.

Haha! Now if you were there you can enlighten us on those books!

That you, Cherie?

… or it “might just be” Cherie!

Seriously, though, I think it’s reflective surface rather than a space behind (… or Cherie’s behind!)

Calliopespa · 22/11/2024 01:56

In all honesty, whether it be a fake generated background or just a slightly unusual library set-up, I prefer the slightly monotone effect of it to backgrounds where you can’t help being distracted by someone’s underpants drying on the radiator or tv on in the background etc.

I think a good thread topic would be funniest things people saw on zoom or teams during lockdown.

ThreeDoorsDown · 22/11/2024 02:06

Ever since Keir took away his £200 winter heating bonus he has had to burn books to keep his corner of hell warm.
