What to call an unborn child?

I am 10 weeks pregnant.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm finding it difficult to know what to call my unborn child at this stage. It doesn't feel right to call it a baby, child or even fetus.

Any suggestions?

The minute that egg is fertilizes it's the start of baby so not sure why you would want to call baby anything else

So you're called Adult?

My friend's baby was Angel before she knew the sex and by the time she was born that was her name 😀

Frimmy. Short for Frimpong. Long story involving 2 football teams. If any of my family on here this is very outing.

We named my eldest bump Ragnor. We were watching vikings at the time 🤣

I called her the thing she was the size of, so sesame seed, chickpea etc. Raspberry kind of stuck though (her embryo pic really looked like a raspberry and it's my favourite fruit) - and she became The Voracious Raspberry because of how much it felt she was taking from me in the first trimester.

My wife and I referred to ours as Little Puffling (baby puffin).

My nephew was Zippy, because he looked like Zippy from Rainbow in his first scan photo!

Friend called their Bean

we called our bump or bubs or baby or blueberry. Silly things too like little squish or pudding

IamChocLover · 20/11/2024 19:46

I had HG and used to refer to DS as "the spawn" I felt like he was sucking the life out of me.

I refer to my forthcoming grandchild as The Bump or Baby (his surname), ie if your surname is Snith then this would be Baby Smith, Daughter des know the gender of the baby but as they've not yet decided what to call it I. sticking with Baby (his surname) until told otherwise.

IThinkImGonnaBeSadIThinkItsToday · 21/11/2024 02:13

Baby or the baby.
