What to call an unborn child?

I am 10 weeks pregnant.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm finding it difficult to know what to call my unborn child at this stage. It doesn't feel right to call it a baby, child or even fetus.

Any suggestions?

Peanut. I had one of those apps that tells you what fruit they're the same size as each week, and when I first started using it she was a peanut.

Now she's called Bob. Sometimes with a blackadder voice, which she doesn't understand yet Grin

Mine were called Prawn, Squid, oiseau and bean.

My eldest was puzzle.
Second was lumpy.

BrunetteHarpy · 18/11/2024 23:09

Ours was called The Baby. With capitals.

Changeyourfuckingcar · 18/11/2024 23:09

My now-3yo was bean from very early on and still is now but this time around, I’m ever so boring and it’s just Bump or Baby!

hollymeetsivy · 18/11/2024 23:11

Bubba

spiderlight · 18/11/2024 23:14

Ours was called Bod.

Merryoldgoat · 18/11/2024 23:17

I called mine ‘The Bun’

TeabySea · 18/11/2024 23:17

The bump, the bean, the parasite, the entity, thing. I used all at some point.

JubileeJuice · 18/11/2024 23:17

Mine was The Unborn

Changeofusernameyetagain · 18/11/2024 23:18

Ours was ' the baby ' but then he was born it was a weird transition to calling him by his name. It's all a bit nebulous before they're here! A friend's
DC to be was called 'bumper' which I liked!

Incakewetrust · 18/11/2024 23:18

We mostly referred to it as the bump or the baby. Occasionally bean.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/11/2024 23:19

Bubs

I had a Mungo.

alanthecat · 18/11/2024 23:25

Ours was known as Pitt the Embryo.

VivianLea · 18/11/2024 23:35

For me it was the baby. My sister refused to say that and instead would only refer to him as "fetish" because "it's not a really baby yet, it's just a fetish". No, we don't get on.

Scampuss · 18/11/2024 23:43

Mine was the 'blasted cyst' (from blastocyst).

KnickerlessParsons · 18/11/2024 23:44

Mine was called Dodie

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 18/11/2024 23:52

Whatever fruit size they were that week

Topseyt123 · 19/11/2024 00:07

Mine was just Baby, The Baby, Babba or Babs.

I'm highly imaginative that way. 🤣

Catza · 19/11/2024 08:05

In what sort of context you will need to call it anything? "I am pregnant" covers most occasions, I would have thought.

Surely you mean fetus?
