Yes I want to win this desperately!!!! It has a Spa - going to buy lots of tickets!

I think it's this one, on the shores of Coniston Water

Where the blue arrow is, just a bit further south than Brentwood.

I don't love the house itself, and I imagine it would be ruinously expensive to keep up, but those views are amazing.

It's got holiday home written all over it, who could afford to run it? I suppose you could rent it out in high season but it would become a second job wouldn't it.

And there’s the council tax too.

It last sold in Feb 2024 for £2.7 million, and Omaze are marketing it as worth £4 million. That's a hell of a jump in 9 months

It's just down the road from me. I'm desperate to win it, It's much more impressive than my little barn conversion, But, then I doubt I could afford the upkeep!

Looks like they've turned the bloody garage into the spa. FFS. No use to me!

I reckon that’s another one that’s a £3m tops house- they may have done work to it but not over a million added to the value. Still, this one is love to win! I think I’d keep it as a holiday home rented out until we are the far side of A levels for dcs and then move in, it’s the first one since the Fowley house that I’d actually want to live in.

The 100k the winner gets on top would pay utilities and council tax for a good while

It feels like none of the houses are ever worth as much as they say. How do they get away with it?

I’ve never entered one of these draws before as they’re often too far away, but that house would be DH’s dream, so have taken the plunge.

It has been built to be very energy efficient, so I imagine the gas/electric running costs would be less than my current house!

They get away with claiming a higher value because most people realise it’s still a £3m house. That said, on here loads of people were saying the one in Fowley was “unsellable” white elephant, wasn’t worth anywhere near the amount they claimed etc. it sold for only a little under the claimed value within a short period being for sale.

I also don’t understand the posts saying “but the council tax! How would I run it?” - you get another £250k cash on top of the house and the stamp duty and fees are already paid.

Why worry about any of this? You're not going to win it.

That house is lush.

I think it's too remote but my DP would adore it. I will enter but I literally never win anything. Hope springs eternal.
