A previous thread of mine that gives more insight to this whole fracas.
Yesterday I had some work commence on my flat, damp vents to be precise, which included drilling holes into the walls. I really struggle with mould.

Last month I reported my weird as fuck neighbours for smoking weed, erecting tents at my window and staring into the house. They recieved a tenancy warning

The work yesterday commenced at about half 9 in the morning, at about half 11 my next door neighbours father in law who lives upstairs came down screaming and shouting that it’s too fucking loud and he works nights (he doesn’t)
The workmen had my front door open to bring equipment in and this man took it upon himself to walk into my house, into the kitchen and stand shouting and swearing at me that I take the fucking piss and I have a nerve. He’s also reported me for having work done at 11am, his 2 sons then started on the workmen sent by the housing association.

I feel really shaken, I don’t feel safe in here anyway with the constant looking in, I am down as a transfer tenant so can bid on other properties but there is absolutely nothing with more than 1 bedroom. I don’t know if I’m being reasonable to go to the police with it or not.

Yes they're harassing you.
Email your tenancy officer too.

Go to the police they trespassed into your home and displayed aggressive and threatening behaviour to you and please report again to the housing association. These people sound insane and I bet your on edge in your own home. Have you thought about a ring doorbell camera to record anything else if they keep going with this behaviour?

Stressedafff · 14/11/2024 09:25

I’m not allowed to have one according to the HA. Because it’s a block of flats, plus the camera would be directly pointing at my neighbours door

Put a camera inside your front door. Immediately contact your HA and record this and report to the police.

BeNavyCrab · 14/11/2024 09:38

Did you get the names of the workmen who were there? If they work for the HA you could use thier experience to add to yours and bring it up with the HA. I'm sure they didn't enjoy the experience either!

Regarding the cannabis use, if you can't get a ring camera, can you discreetly get some footage via a mobile phone "left on a window sill" so you have evidence. If you can't, start writing a log of the goings on. Keep it factual, with exact times and write how it's affected you. You have a much stronger case if you can show a longer pattern of abuse.

Justsmileanwave · 14/11/2024 11:44

Definitely needs reporting. You shouldn't have to live like that and HA also need to do something but report to the police. I know about abusive weed smoking neighbours so I get it it's horrible feeling scared in your own home!

If your flat is HA, the work is their responsibility, if the other residents aren’t happy with it they need to talk to the HA. Next time, tell them to talk to the HA, as you won’t engage with them if they are kicking off. Tell them if they barge into your flat again you will call 999 as they are making you feel unsafe
