currently stuck in a career I’m not happy in. Would love to find something I love and leave the corporate world for good.

If you love your job what is it that you do?

Trainee psychologist, hating life right now as course/ placement is so busy but overall I do love it. I prefer the academic side than clinical.

Cupcakey · 12/11/2024 21:49

Newborn Hearing Screener - NHS
I really love my job. Smile

Lookwhoitisnae · 12/11/2024 21:56

Self employed dog walker. Love it, I left management in small charity due to corporate greed and toxic people.
I'm busy, outside, hanging out with amazing dogs and happy. Tiring but rewarding. Rainy days are a bit pants but its just another day!

WildGuide · 12/11/2024 21:58

litigation solicitor. Absolutely love it but no good to you if you want to leave the corporate world!

JustAGalWhoLovesBooks · 12/11/2024 21:59

Civil service, social media manager. Close enough to all the drama for the buzz, but low enough down the pecking order that it's relatively stress free! Only down side is the pay.

OliviaRodrighost · 12/11/2024 22:01

I’m 39 and been a hairdresser for the past 6 years - I absolutely love it. Was doing a very stressful job in logistics beforehand, burnt out and then retrained in hair and it’s a dream 💓💇‍♀️

Communications for a charity these days, via 30 years of print and broadcast journalism, freelance copywriting and public sector comms.

ButterflyBitch · 12/11/2024 22:10

Teaching Assistant. It’s hard work and stressful some days but I love it and I certainly don’t do it for the (shit) money!

YesItsMeYesItsMe · 12/11/2024 22:18

Singing teacher. Can’t believe I get to do that with my life! 😃

Bounty9 · 12/11/2024 22:19

I’m an executive assistant within a charity. I love this job, I’ve done it in various places over the last 10 years and it’s brilliant. The pay is great, I work remotely 4 days a week, the work is relatively low stress and the perks of working for/with senior management are amazing. One year I was given a Christmas present - it was a £500 cheque! I’m a control freak though, you have to organise people to within an inch of their lives and enjoy doing so.

bluewanda · 12/11/2024 22:23

No offence but quite a few of the jobs listed sound very dull to me! If people genuinely enjoy them though, I’m happy for you. Different strokes for different folks and all that.

Meadowlands · 12/11/2024 22:38

Teach, and love it.
It's a shame the profession gets a bad press because it can be such a great and rewarding career.

Meadowlands · 12/11/2024 22:40

And good to see so many fellow teachers also loving their work

Another secondary school teacher here. There’s been a lot of changes since I started over 20 years ago but I can’t imagine doing anything else. Even on the tough days I still love my job.

ASGIRC · 12/11/2024 22:43

I dont love my current job (in a sports tv station), but I am a sound engineer, and I loved my jobs when I worked in the West End and on tour, with both plays and musicals!

Iceache · 12/11/2024 22:46

I’m a teacher (KS2). My specialism is what I particularly love about my job though and I enjoy splitting my time between the classroom and curriculum development. It’s a tough job and the workload can be pretty shocking, but I’m good at managing my time and very efficient so I rarely feel too stressed out by it all. I get a lot of job satisfaction from it and it’s never boring. I have a fairly clear idea of career progression over the next ten years, and I’ll never be independently wealthy, but there’s decent earning potential which I find motivating.

DaveMinion · 12/11/2024 22:52

Healthcare assistant in operating theatres. Love my job.
