currently stuck in a career I’m not happy in. Would love to find something I love and leave the corporate world for good.

If you love your job what is it that you do?

Yes I run my own business teaching people how to get into the media and I love it! I left secondary school teaching about 8 years ago and it’s so lovely not dreading going to work!

Dental nurse. Not NHS

neverbeenskiing · 12/11/2024 19:43

School safeguarding Lead. The job is fascinating and rewarding, my colleagues are great and the kids are delightful. Well, they're delightful most of the time! 😅

DrMadelineMaxwell · 12/11/2024 19:45

I teach and have done for more than 25 years.
It definitely drives me crazy sometimes, and can be very challenging, but I wouldn't do anything else.

Paraplanner in financial services - do all the research, technical bits in the background to support the advice being given.

ihaveliterallynoidea · 12/11/2024 19:46

Facilities Manager for EMEA region - 15 offices under my helm. Love it

goodthinking99 · 12/11/2024 19:50

I manage a local charity that runs a building, with lots of activities, and projects with partner agencies. I love it but I'm still looking forward to retiring in a few years.

Foster carer, mainly babies who are withdrawing and babies/children with complex medical needs.

Monday55 · 12/11/2024 19:55

Own a business - online retail.

greengreyblue · 12/11/2024 19:57

I teach but I’m a HLTA( higher level ta) so I cover teachers when they plan and get to teach stuff like PSHE. I don’t have more than an hour or two to do at home and get the best part without all the data and meetings and extra responsibilities. There’s only one downside, the pay!

Cabin Crew - my only job since 1992 - the best job ❤️

stonkytonk11 · 12/11/2024 19:58

Teacher. Love it as much now as I did when I started 20 odd years ago

Cantfindanavailablename · 12/11/2024 19:59

Another one for teaching - I work at a special school - a secondary for kids with mental health difficulties. I love it.

TheEyesOfLucyJordon · 12/11/2024 20:00

I'm a chartered accountant and work in finance for a fabulous charity.

I love it 🥰

StormySimon · 12/11/2024 20:00

I love my industry but I hate the company I work for and feel stuck due to lack of other roles in the industry.

Student support at a University.
Interesting, varied, exciting place to work, I feel like I've made an actual difference most days and there is a little stress (which I actually like) but not too much 😆

LolaCrapola · 12/11/2024 20:02

Occupational Therapist. Truly love my job.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 12/11/2024 20:02

I work in a commercial role for an adventure travel company. I do of course have crap days and weeks but I can't imagine working in any other industry - I get to spend my days working with and talking about amazing travel experiences (and get to travel plenty of course)

Stirrednshaken · 12/11/2024 20:05

Psychotherapist, part NHS part private practice

Threelittleduck · 12/11/2024 20:09

Nursery nurse was the best job ever. Sometimes expectations from management and parents was unrealistic but watching those children grow and thrive was fantastic.
I cried on my last day (had to leave due to caring responsibilities) and I really hope to go back to it one day.

LakieLady · 12/11/2024 20:09

Welfare rights officer.

Every victory against the pile of uselessness that is the DWP puts a smile on my face and a spring in my step. That's why I'm still doing it three years after I started collecting my pension.
