Thanks everyone! She has recently turned 5. Just curious really. She's very much into drawing at the moment and has been wanting to learn how to do shading etc. She does copy drawings from YouTube but she also likes to draw her own things too.

That’s lovely, well done her :)

tilypu · 11/11/2024 22:57

Based on my own artistic talents, I'd say about 53 😂

happinessisnotapossession · 11/11/2024 22:58

Seems like my drawing skills stopped at age 7.

labamba007 · 11/11/2024 22:59

Mine was about 3 days to draw something like this, right after he became fluent in French.

Your daughter is turning out to be a wonderful artist OP but these threads make me laugh 😂

teatimelover · 11/11/2024 23:00

Newborn. It reminds me of Kim kardashians girl drawing something which wasn't her art or something along the lines? I would personally say 7/8 yo boy? If it's a girl I would say maybe 6?

That's really very good! I can't think of many of the 5yos I've seen draw (many of them, I do Rainbows as well as have a 5yo of my own) who can draw or even copy as neatly as that. Could be a calling for her!

I also have a Pokemon-mad DD Grin We have a lot of Pikachu drawings around.

Blossombaby99 · 11/11/2024 23:01

It's a lovely drawing, has real charm. I hope she continues to enjoy creating lovely pictures :-)

ANP2020 · 11/11/2024 23:02

My sons pretty good at drawing and was doing similar to this at about age 4. It makes you feel so proud!! He still does a lot of copying pictures but now he’s six he is starting to freehand and use imagination! He loves it an will draw for hours! I however can’t draw a thing 😂

About 7 is my guess

mistymirror · 11/11/2024 23:03

Amazing for a 5 year old!!!

@ANP2020 that's amazing for a 6 year old as well!

StressedQueen · 11/11/2024 23:04

She is good for 5! My 6 year old daughter definitely couldn't do that but my 9 year old would've been able to do that at 3.

Why are there so many threads like this? I feel like there is one every week. Is being good at drawing at a young a sign of genius or something? What are people trying to infer from their child's drawing skills?

Wow wow you can see he's already developing a distinctive art style too - incredible!

Does it matter? My DD is terribly dyslexic and is years behind her peers at school - art is her only strength. I wish more people would appreciate art and creativity personally.

Maybe it’s something which isn’t being acknowledged enough. Everywhere seems to be focused on Math and English in the Uk

Definitely! What is life without art and creativity? I can’t think of anyone I know who doesn’t consume art and design and other people’s creativity daily, even if they’re not at all creative themselves. Brings so enjoyment to the world. Massively valuable skill!
