To think fish finger sandwiches should be made with toast and Bacon Sandwiches with bread?

Just idly pondering this as I make bacon sandwiches for lunch for everyone.

DH made me a fish finger sandwich the other day but with bread and it just felt wrong for some reason

So I call bread the whole loaves. The sliced bread - ie ready to be popped into a toaster- I call toast regardless of whether it’s toasted or not. 🙈

So if someone asks you if you want a piece of toast you wouldn't know if they meant, erm, untoasted toast or toasted toast?

Never toast here. I prefer them very crispy in any form of soft white bread, with Mayo, rocket and lemon, plenty of salt and pepper, and preferably a glass of cold Sauvignon. ( Also out of the pan with ketchup)
