To think fish finger sandwiches should be made with toast and Bacon Sandwiches with bread?

Just idly pondering this as I make bacon sandwiches for lunch for everyone.

DH made me a fish finger sandwich the other day but with bread and it just felt wrong for some reason

No,the other way round. Bacon sandwiches are definitely improved by toasting the bread.

Buttered bread for both.

Not for me, both served in rolls, but no butter on the bacon roll.

Nooo! Bacon with toast (or on a barm) fried til dead, dead crispy with loads of brown sauce and fishfingers on thick bread with butter, salt, pepper, vinegar and brown sauce. Yum!!

I think fish fingers should be in white untoasted bread with lots of tomato ketchup. Bacon sandwiches should also be in untoasted white bread, but I only ever use unsmoked grilled bacon and never ever fry it.

Bacon is ok made with toast, but prefer white bread, and fishfingers is always bread, never toast

I would go with bread for both if making for myself. But being cooked for, I wouldn't care. M&S do a good fish finger sarnie and it is toasted.

BLTs should also be made with toast, and so should tuna salad amd egg salad sandwiches.

Pulled pork sandwiches otoh should be made with thick cut white bread.

Bacon sarnies/rolls yummy with white bread, no butter or spread. Sausage sarnies great with any bread including that made in my breadmaker. I’ve never had fish finger sandwiches.

Toast is just something I have with marmite, note not the other way round. 😆

I can't eat bacon sandwiches at all. They just feel completely wrong. Mine have to be VERY crispy streaky bacon, cooked almost to the point of extinction, and served in a soft white roll. I love the contrast of the very crunchy bacon against the softness of the bread.

However, if I was looking down the barrel of a gun, and HAD to have a sandwich, I'd have bread toasted on one side only, and then it would be back bacon.

Fish finger sandwiches, sorry - they have to be white bread. Nothing else works.

Quite frankly I'm DISCUSTED OP.

The only sandwich made with toast should be toast, ketchup and grated cheddar. I don't know why, my grandad used to make them.

Anything else - bread. I will not be taking questions at this time.
