Could you be with a man who would have voted Trump?

Just that really.

My husband doesn't love Trump exactly but said tonight he would have voted for him and he hopes Trump will "dismantle the deep state".

Could you be with a Trump voter? Interested in people's views.

Same here. We voted Reform too.

That absolutely figures imagine being proud to vote for the far right

Cynic17 · 07/11/2024 17:52

Yes. I would never vote Trump myself, but we should always respect other people's choices. It would be a boring world if we all agreed on everything.

Crikeyalmighty · 07/11/2024 18:11

@YouLookinSusBro and I can guarantee you 60% of that is just prime vote winning bullshit and won't happen - I'm happy to bet you £100 on it. His biggest concerns will be staying out of prison and raiding the coffers somehow to replenish his incredibly depleted funds -

Crikeyalmighty · 07/11/2024 18:12

@YouLookinSusBro wasn't keen on Kamala too by the view- but would have voted purely on the fact she wasn't Trump

Zanatdy · 07/11/2024 18:12

No, I cannot stand the man and everything he stands for, I couldn’t have a relationship with someone whose core belief was so different to my own

Nanny0gg · 07/11/2024 00:08

I'm not bullying anyone

I'm genuinely curious how someone so apparently personally loathsome attracted so many women voters

Donald Trump is a walking dichotomy. For example, yes, he has said a) some very unsavoury things about women... but then he also wants b) to keep men out of women's sports and women-only spaces.

I'd wager that a lot of women who voted will disregard A if it means they can have B. I think they call it 'choosing your battles'.

Jumpingthruhoops · 07/11/2024 18:37

Verv · 07/11/2024 12:14

I can see why people did vote for Trump TBH.
I think he's a consequence of the left becoming deeply authoritarian and attacking people who dont go along with their ideologies. Cause and effect, call people stupid for long enough and they'll do something stupid just to shit on your breakfast cereal.

So beautifully put 👏👏

Jumpingthruhoops · 07/11/2024 18:41

Oh... I see... so because Wikipedia (ya know, that online 'encyclopedia' written and edited by a bunch of students!)
calls it a conspiracy, it must be one!?

Honestly, I'm embarrassed for you...

Katemax82 · 07/11/2024 19:06

I am with a man who would have voted trump

ShamblesRock · 07/11/2024 19:39

My 12 year old asked earlier who DH and I would have voted for, and I said it was really hard to know because US politics is so wrapped up in their culture as well as being very devisive, a lot more than in the UK where the majority of people are somewhere around the middle, we don't have the two extremes to such an extent, nor the seeming expectation to pin your colours to the mast (figuratively or literally as the case may be)

So, as it stands yes, I probably would.

User37482 · 07/11/2024 19:45

Depends, if he started banging on about vaccines and the deep state I would be edging away from him slowly.

If I were an american I probably would have not voted.

Catlord · 07/11/2024 10:23

No. I don't believe in cult of personality' politics but I think it's important that the party leader shows some moral compass and decency even if flawed. I don't mean zero quibbles over expenses or COVID gatherings or whatever missteps.

Even if I felt weighted in favour of Trump's policies (I do not), I could not condone voting a sexual abuser into office to name but one unacceptable aspect of his behaviour. I would not want to be with a man who thinks this constitutes a suitable leader.

I used to think this until I realised that Clinton was a really shitty person but a really good president. I really really loathe trump btw but I don’t think it follows that you have to be a good person to be a good leader. Churchill was often an arsehole but still an excellent leader.

In what way is Trump a good leader?

jezlifecoach · 08/11/2024 00:11

Yes. I find Conservative men attractive - family and God. Trump does not hate women - he is married to one and has daughters and has just appointed one as his CoS. But the sound bite “he hates women” is just a yawnfest these days and has no real meaning or evidence behind it.

Ferro · 08/11/2024 01:30

Disaster for our entire planet take look around you you now have a redundant who believes climate change is a hoax so that is a disaster to our planet.

It doesn't matter whether or not leaders believe in climate change, none of them, including those who shout the loudest, are doing anything about it.

No evidence except what he says and does.

BackyardDreamer · 08/11/2024 01:54

Oh of course. No man could possibly hate women. They were all born from one, after all 🙄

Trumpz · 08/11/2024 07:18

Musk and Trump banging on about family....traditional values etc @jezlifecoach

Musk has 12 children by 4 women - 2 of whom gave birth withing days of each other

Trump has 5 kids by 3 wives and multiple allegations of Sexual assaults.

Ppl voting for them because of good old Christian values need to understand they are not living the lives they preach to others

How they have branded themselves as anti establishment traditional men - when they are billionaire fuck boys.....God knows.

Yes.
Would definitely not entertain anytime foolish enough to vote for Kamala.

She was such a bad candidate!

BIossomtoes · 08/11/2024 09:41

She was good enough for the contest to be neck and neck right up to the last minute. She also had just four months of campaigning as opposed to Trump’s four years. I think she was a decent candidate who did well to get as many votes as she did.

Yip. 'landslide' wins are predicated on voting systems such as first past the post, electoral college etc. There's a fag paper between the two candidates in the popular vote. She really didn't lose by much.

Michelle12A · 06/11/2024 21:10

I mean over 50% of men did

yes but i think part of the problem was that Kamala Harris's campaign completely ignored the male vote - i mean with her campaign you would have thought men didnt exist! Naturally trumps campaign exploited this successfully

smooththecat · 08/11/2024 14:17

Wrong thread

Serendipityandmore · 08/11/2024 17:32

Imagine all the poor men whose wives put their emotions before common sense and end up supporting the Dems whose policies are openly sexist, racist and warmongering 😲

Sure, Trump isn't perfect but a vote for the Dems is a vote for racism, sexism, and war, and it's a vote cast out of hatred.

Disaster for our entire planet take look around you you now have a redundant who believes climate change is a hoax so that is a disaster to our planet. Weather is getting worse and worse look at the science but then again the Republicans don't sang fol going to university they want poorly educated people

Look at the science?? 90% of Democrats believe:

  • Men possession an ability to magically become women.

  • Floppy bits of blue cloth hanging off your protect you from Covid, despite being stuffed in your bag/jeans for the last two weeks.

  • A miracle vaccine has been invented that stops Covid.

  • Everyone must get injected (the injections have subsequently been withdrawn for the entire population, save pensioners and and the immuno-compromised).

  • Gender Pay Gaps actually exist. It doesn't. The "studies" don't control for qualifications, experience, relocating, dirty jobs, dangerous jobs, night shifts, overtime, sales commission etc.

"Climate Emergency" zealots generally have an appalling track record when it comes to interpreting unbiased and credible science, often having fallen for far left conspiracy theories.
