Don't go to a bar in the USA.

Apparently by the logic of some on this thread the Harris supporters all have the same beliefs.

I did see something about immigration.

Considering his family tree that is either a joke or he is as stupid as the orange buffoon

WEF conspiracies are anti-semitic.

How so?

How so?

The Anti-Defamation League has also tracked the conspiracy’s antisemitic tropes that claim the WEF is “controlled” by Jews who are using the “Great Reset” to set up a “One World Government.

The bit about "run by Jews" is antisemetic.

The bits saying that the Great Reset is possibly not the best thing for humanity, and that other WEF plans are going to increase power held by the minority at the expense of the common man, and that the end game is the unipolar world, as you say, are not antisemetic, I think is what you mean? How can it be antisemetic? The ideology is what is being questioned, not the religion(s) of the people who want all the power. Not all of them are Jewish or identify as Jewish.

Revolting. All the gleeful joy on electing a serial rapist, crook, cheat, narcissistic failure as a human being is utterly sickening.
Well, you made your bed. I can only hope the consequences come crashing down on you personally and you have some semblance of shame when you remember whose fault it was.
Trouble is, all the vulnerable people will probably suffer more. But again that's what you voted for.

People can have different views but I find it abhorrent that people are fine seeing the rights of women stripped away before our very eyes. How on earth can anyone justify that?

What rights are women being stripped of? Genuine question.

DdraigGoch · 06/11/2024 14:10

You realise that the Republicans want to abolish even those "certain circumstances"?

Threat to the mother's life and no chance the foetus will be viable anyway? Well the mother will have to die, because she's not getting an abortion.

Child raped and impregnated? She'll have to carry the rapist's child to term then. Forced marriage will be next.

See, why are people peddling such wild misinformation!?
The facts are:
Women will still be able to have abortions - just not at VERY late term, when the baby is a viable human. I think that's fair enough.
-The caveat to that is that late-term abortions will be allowed if the pregnancy is the result of a) rape b) incest c) or there's immediate danger to life. Which again is fair enough.

I think the Democrats have dropped the ball. I am very fearful of the Starmer gov doing the same thing. There needs to be a much more radical look at how the whole system works and how to connect with voters and the political system is basically tired and old.

The thing I fear most is that lots of political folks think that the adversarial, abstract crap that is talked among themselves, about what people want, is a feature not a bug - they think they're doing all this stupid shit with Whips and Private Members Bills and blah blah and they think it leads to good policy and legislation and don't even realise how far off they are from real life.

So yeah I think the Democrats did that and also here we are doing that. I don't think either gov has "plans" that are strategic enough to take on the challenges we really face and describe them accurately to people.

Excellent post.

What are you talking about? More than a dozen states have implemented total abortion bans since Roe v Wade was overturned. Several more have set a six week threshold (a long way from viable). Most of those states do not have exceptions for rape or incest.

So the final decision doesn't rest with Trump; it's been left up to the individual States to decide. And it looks like they're deciding.

It's not misinformation. The Project 2025 blueprint outlines how they plan to deny abortion care in medical emergencies.

Project 2025 calls for the Department of Health and Human Services to dismantle the abortion protections provided under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), a federal policy that outlines requirements for emergency departments that receive Medicare funds.
The plan recommends rescinding Biden administration guidance from 2022 stating that people needing abortion care as part of emergency treatment are entitled to that care under federal law, even in states where abortion is banned. It would also end investigations into cases where patients’ rights were violated by denial of necessary emergency abortion care.7
Further, it seeks to eliminate injunctions against states that have violated EMTALA and recommends that the Department of Justice withdraw from all ongoing litigation where it is currently defending the right to emergency abortion care.
Refusal to enforce EMTALA’s protections for abortion care puts pregnant people’s lives in jeopardy, by forcing providers to risk criminal charges if they perform potentially lifesaving abortion care.

This is already happening in states with abortion bans and women are dying as a result. Project 2025 details how they plan to make these atrocities the law of the land.

Predictably some very sore losers in woke mumsnetland. I’m delighted he won. Harris would have been a disaster bigger than Sir Keir is already proving to be.

Oh the irony! Trump was of course in no way a "sore loser" last time was he? 😂🤣😂

Decencydiedtoday · 09/11/2024 09:10

'Delight' that more women will die in agony as a result of deliberate policy? What is WRONG with you people?
And the puerile response of " sore loser". It's not a game of Scrabble fgs.😤 People will DIE.

But what does that have to do with it? Is that the best you can come up with? He won this time, in fact he smashed it. 4 years of woke Biden brought america to its senses. If you would rather have someone who voted for full term abortion in Florida well………

I am not "coming up" with anything. Merely pointing out the irony of a Trump supporter moaning about "sore losers", given that when Trump lost, he bleated about cheating and his supporters rioted, causing deaths. You don't think that's relevant to a discussion about losing?

Yawn. It is not murder. People who call it murder are ridiculous.

@Beezknees , I absolutely do not agree with abortion as a form of contraception. I understand that there are certain, limited circumstances where it is a necessary evil but even then I believe there is a certain gestation after which I just should not occur. I do not believe a baby is part of its mother’s body but a separate human. You can disagree with me as is your prerogative but that doesn’t make you right or me wrong.

but I’m not talking about Trump I’m talking about the mumsnet woke brigade who simply can’t accept being out voted! I wasn’t delighted when labour won I think they’re awful but I wasn’t all over social media whinging about it. It was a democratic election process and he won. End of!
