Reading it now its horrific. People saying we heard screams- and yet did nothing??? How does a person just think that no im not going to report this, most likely because they cant be bothered/ dont want to be involved. Scum of the earth the dad is. The stepmother ( and her sister!) going on and on about how they feel bad etc and dont do anything!

I live a few streets away from where it happened and for interest of disclosure also say we home educate (lots of SEN) and that my child was abused at school. My kids are 'seen' with Cubs, swimming, art etc. We are already 'registered'.

Be careful what you wish for re home ed welfare etc.
Do we want world where every child under school age and every child during summer holidays is subject to random SS checks, because of possibility of abuse?
They don't have resources of course, but those that are proposing those, do you think it's correct? Will they have special training, as my SEN child is literal and will say things like 'I don't have any clothes', when his wardrobe is full but his favourite clothes is in wash
I mean Sara was at school for almost 2, possibly 4 years, where she was abused and some of it was spotted, but services closed referral.
It's also hard to judge situation as a neighbour. My eldest is autistic and used to have rages about everything until he was 9. My neighbours, bless them, know my son has SEN but at times it sounded like he was being murdered.
Ultimately, the abuser is always able to hide the abuse, you can't 100% eliminate every child killing, it's just not possible.
Poor Sara.

But Sara didn’t have SEN! You are comparing your situation with hers when she was probably home schooled because the parents were trying to hide her abuse. IMO home schooling without SEN reasons or serious illness should never be allowed.

What tape?

The court heard Sara's 30-year-old stepmother Beinash Batool bought 12 rolls of parcel tape in July 2023, just nine days after buying six rolls from Amazon.
Jurors were told that the tape was used to construct the 'home-made hoods'.

Thanks. I thought it might be that. It was all premeditated if they were buying tape in bulk.

Sick fucks.

It’s all so horrific. I live in the area (not super close, a few miles away) and wish someone had helped the little girl 😢

mrshoho · 02/11/2024 13:19

Surely the older brother should be called to the the trial as a witness who was living in the home. In previous cases children have given evidence remotely and with anonymity.

Last I read (very old news) was that Surrey County Council asked for all children to be returned but Pakistan was not collaborating. Maybe they have been returned since, but it won’t make the news to protect their privacy.

This isn't Stockholm syndrome this is psychopathy.

The step mother is likely the husbands cousin as is her sister, the aunt.

We have enough psychopaths, I am sorry for the children, they did not ask to be born, they are unfortunately lost causes and that family has cost us enough socially and financially, leave them be Pakistans problem.

I know, it's devastating. I can't understand how anyone could hurt a child or listen to a child getting hurt and do nothing. This went on for years and no one helped her. I hope they're all locked up for life.

Late diagnosis happens, home education isn't the problem in this case.

Diorchristian · 02/11/2024 13:42

@mrshoho unfortunately it seems the 5 remaining children are in Pakistan.

I still find it so odd that the house looks spotless with all those children in it and yet weapons with dna where left out?
I didn't see a single toy or item left out in the house.

70-80% of home ed kids have SEN and most have been failed by a school first.
What about the preschool kids? Should they also be in the nursery from x months so they can be 'seen' everyday? Or kids at school during summer holiday?
Very clearly there should be red flashes all over her situation where school saw abuse and SS didn't see it as a problem. But that's a separate issue.

Two were in lockdown

As far as I know Star and Arthur were murdered in lockdown.
Star wouldn't have been picked up by a school staff as too young. Both were already known to SS who did nothing.
It's the same theme again. It could be summer holidays like with Sara. The whole safeguarding should be probably reformed.

Is this an official statistic or did you make this up? I don’t know why you are arguing for LESS social services involvement on a thread about a tortured and murdered child. Read the room

Might have cut down on my non-accidental injuries had I been in Nursery and pre-school, my brothers' too. Same with summer holidays. Less time for her to train all of us not to say anything to anybody who asked as well, as we were well trained by five to say 'fell over' or 'ran into a wall' instead of 'pushed over, kicked and chased with a knife'.

No, you are misunderstanding and confusing two things together.
I'm not arguing for less SS involvement. I'm trying to make a point that home education is not the reason Sara and kids got abused.

I'm sorry it happened to you. Most parents are not like that.

lemondropsandchimneytops · 02/11/2024 14:36

Someone listed names of murdered children upthread and it's so sad to see all those little people's names listed like that.

They should not be household names.

There will always be abusers and there will always be the need to safeguard the vulnerable from abuse. The deaths of each of these children present complexities in their own way but the root of the problem is and always will be the sick, sick bastards who abuse and murder children.

Lettherebejustice · 02/11/2024 14:39

I can't comprehend how someone can abuse to death or be complicit in such abuse of their own child. Are their brains wired differently or how does it get to such a stage? The inherent instant to protect your own is ingrained inside of us.

Anyone find it weird how sterile and clean their home looks?

We have 3 children aged 10 months - 4 years

On any given day there's toys lying around and you just see in every single room that children live there.

Even if we tidy up in the evening, it will look like total chaos the next day.

Totally. We had three under 5s and it was total chaos possessions wise. Toy kitchen, work benches, duplo, garden toys, books, wooden toys, musival toys. Toys and more toys everywhere. Never ending tidy up.
They (Sara and siblings) couldn't have them in their rooms as only 3 bed house and 5 (6?) kids plus Uncle, so no space.

LeafcutterAnt · 02/11/2024 15:24

I wonder if the dad kicked off if things weren't pristine.

I wondered about this. 6 kids in one bedroom? Or some sleep in living room?

Maybe they didn’t have many toys 😢

Looks like there were bunk beds in 2 rooms. Yeah, I imagine toys weren't high on the list of priorities.

Chilling watching the footage of the Police going upstairs.

I have no idea on how could they fit them all in. 3rd bedroom would be study size too. It's very middle class area of Woking, but that street leads to ex-council houses. He was a taxi driver, she didn't work. That house would cost around 1700-2000pcm to rent and or at least 550k to buy. I don't know how they could afford either, maybe HA place?
