Reading it now its horrific. People saying we heard screams- and yet did nothing??? How does a person just think that no im not going to report this, most likely because they cant be bothered/ dont want to be involved. Scum of the earth the dad is. The stepmother ( and her sister!) going on and on about how they feel bad etc and dont do anything!

Sara's stepmother has refused to give dental impressions.

Sara was, amongst her other abuses, bitten repeatedly and so hard that dental impressions could be taken from her injuries.

Of the 3 adults living in her home, 2 have given dental impressions that do not match Sara's bite injuries. 1 adult has not, the step mother. It's pretty fucking obvious who was biting that poor girl so hard her skin was broken. She was an abuser just the same as Sara's male relatives - her husband has just chosen to protect her.

The neighbours are fuckwits. You hear children sounding in fear; locked in rooms; in pain - you fucking do something.

May Sara rest in peace.

It's not obvious. If they're not hers, which might/could be shown if she consented, that then directs the investigation somewhere else.

Yep, absolutely, they would need to be a tutor with experience in SEN.
At my SEN school we have several children who are home ed due to being too medically unwell to attend, and the school employs a teacher who visits each of them for a couple hours 3 times a week. Nowhere near a full education provision, but often it's all the child has capacity for amongst medical appointments, being drowsy from meds etc.

And self regulation is something every child benefits on being supported with. My daughters mainstream primary places a high emphasis on this for all children, to enable 'readiness to learn', how to manage their big emotions, and it produces children, who despite spending much less time on reading and writing than other schools, are far ahead academically because the children are engaged, and happy.

Happy that your daughter's school is like that, most of schools where I live is 'let's learn fronted adverbials at 8 so they are not behind'. Comes down to the choice - if there were different types of provision - some kids learns more in a practical way, some are highly academic, some can't sit all day, all kids would be better off.
My son (the one with tutor) who never has done any 'formal' learning is having a highly structured pigeon clay shooting lessons, where injury potential exists.
The teacher is brilliant with him despite zero formal SEN training because he listened to what we said and how to handle him.
You can't teach this stuff.

A child in the house texted a friend to say, Sara had passed away..
So one wonders what other messages where sent and to whom and didn't another adult pick it up?
It sounds like something from an on going conversation..
Thise children will be utterly traumatised.

Wtf! A child did?

mrshoho · 02/11/2024 09:57

The pathetic excuse of a father has admitted he killed his daughter. The stepmother and uncle either joined in or turned a blind eye with full knowledge ofcthe abuse. The trial will more than likely establish their involvement. The aunt it seems had full knowledge of the horrific abuse and did nothing. All of these adults are guilty in varrying degrees and should receive prison sentences.

Social services completely failed in their responsibilities to safeguard Sara. Concerns were raised by the school but it appears they were not fully investigated. Neighbours knew something was very wrong with this family but it is unclear whether any reports to police were made. A reminder for all of us to go ahead and report any concerns no matter if you have doubts. There is so much that could have been done. If social services had acted on the reports from the school, a simple examination from a Dr would have uncovered the seriousness of her injuries. They should not rely on the child or the family to explain the cause of the injury.

Poor Sara suffered for years and endured sustained physical abuse. There will be children right now suffering similar abuse. How are these children going to be saved? For all our safeguarding laws and training, nothing seems to have changed and children in abusive homes are still in great danger.

Probably Sara's 13 year old brother.

I didn’t do a flounce earlier. I went to do something else and went to bed? It was the middle of the night. Stop harassing me following me around the thread and slandering me, you are part of the group that try and intimidate white people by calling the racist for no reason.

fedup33 · 02/11/2024 11:15

What a load of nonsense, Have some dignity.

It doesn't matter what colour that poor kid was. How you can sit in a house and listen to that and do nothing.

Its not human. A dog would have shown more empathy.

I see a number of my comments have been reported and removed because people think I am being racist for saying that violence is ingrained in other cultures and religions. Even the OP agreed with me.
this is why people are afraid to speak out.
we have our answer, and it is the same reason why this girl wasn't saved before she was killed.
I’m not here to be abused, I am a highly sensitive person. I am out

Flounce didn't last long.

Quite right. I don't care about someone's culture, if it slows them to abuse someone it's not worth defending. That said, abusers will abuse. Some of them will hide behind culture and religion to do so. I feel for the majority of Muslims who are decent people who don't abuse their kids.

MaybeItsBecauseImALodoner · 02/11/2024 11:35

I hate this epidemic of black and Asian people calling white people racist and making them feel uncomfortable and like they’re walking on egg shells in their own home land

@TheSnugHare
What the fuck are you going on about, you sound ridiculous!!
A little girl has died in horrific circumstances, stop using as an excuse to spout racist crap!

LongLongLiveLove · 02/11/2024 11:45

Battered woman syndrome, culture and patriarchy are just excuses . Things abusers hide behind to excuse their abuse. Abusers abuse because they are abusers. Not because of their culture or tragic circumstances .

LeafcutterAnt · 02/11/2024 12:20

So many high profile similar cases it has been the step parent that has been the main perpetrator.

Baby Peter
Sebastian Kalinowski
Logan Mwangi
Arthur Labingo Hughes
Star Hobson
Daniel Pelka

When it's the actual parent like this one seems to be, you're surprised!

Diorchristian · 02/11/2024 12:25

@LeafcutterAnt in each one the parent also abused the child.
Unfortunately there is another case in the news right now where a boy friend killed a child not his own.
We also don't know the extent of step mums involvement.

Exactly, the same as in this case. The parent was the one who dealt the actual death blows, but until then I would say both parents guilty. I maintain it should be an offense for a partner of an abuser to be allowed to let her children remain in that situation. The parents who let it happen have blood on their hands.

What is your definition of racism, because it certainly isn’t the actual definition

The step parent was the most violent abusive one though and most of them would have lived if the parent had remained solo or met someone who wasn't abusive.

Diorchristian · 02/11/2024 12:49

Yes in those cases but the parent was also violent

Also those that were of school age were all attending school. Apart from one, all were known to Social Services.

HaveYouSeenRain · 02/11/2024 13:04

The girl had bitemarks that don’t match the father or uncle so I assume the stepmother was also violent. Wasnt she the one that ordered the tape from amazon?

HaveYouSeenRain · 02/11/2024 13:06

fashionqueen0123 · 01/11/2024 22:38

Where is the brother then - is he still in Pakistan too?!

Last I read (very old news) was that Surrey County Council asked for all children to be returned but Pakistan was not collaborating. Maybe they have been returned since, but it won’t make the news to protect their privacy.
