Going back to what I asked before on this... Why is this something which matters? What does it mean? What difference does it make?

Maybe the next day he can apologise to the north of England and Wales and Scotland for the poor conditions down the mines and inherited health issues? Maybe the next day he could apologise to people in Kherson and Sevastopol for destroying their cities in the Crimean War? It's a bit more complex than that. Most of the population of the Caribbean wouldn't be living there at all if not for the Atlantic slave trade. So it's almost impossible to determine who would or wouldn't be better off.
