Baked Camembert ruined by drowning it in honey, same for mozzarella sticks.

Who started this awful trend for adding honey to perfectly good cheese?

Or am I weird for not liking it?

Chutney has a lot of sugar in so it’s not a huge leap from pairing cheese & chutney to cheese & honey.
I’d think my hostess was a bit try hard though if she served it on a cheese board.

I love honey but keep it off my cheese. Especially camembert relish or pickle is the only thing that goes with cheese.

I had goats cheese with honey yesterday. Stunning. Has it with salty crostini’s, fig jam, walnuts and pears.

It does seem to be everywhere at the moment. Goats cheese seems to be making a bit of a comeback as well, it disappeared for a while when all the veggie options went vegan, so I don’t know if that’s connected.

As I hate both, this is not a welcome development for me!

Goats cheese with honey and nuts is absolutely incredible- I get it in Portugal

when in Greece this year, we were given an OLIVE In honey

that was weird. Even when we told Greeks about it, THEY thought it was weird, but we ate there a couple of times and got used to it 🙂
