Did you see the story in the news that a man in Australia has said that he is Prince Charles 's and Camilla's lovechild. Apparently security are watching him as he said that he is going to try to go and see them

This is lighthearted, so don't come at me. It's just in the news today, and was wondering what are your thoughts?

We have all seen what happens when you open up the circle a tiny bit.

With a clear exception to the rule of course.

Long live the British class system eh?

His birth sister also looks a great deal more like him than he does Charles or Camilla.

He says he was subjected to surgery as a child to change his eye colour from blue to brown. There are pictures of him as a toddler, before the surgery is meant to have taken place, with brown eyes. From what I've read he knows who his birth family are and although with all of us there's the possibility of doubt, there really is nothing to suggest he's Charles and Camilla's, at all. His story isn't even straight regarding how and when he was "told" by his grandmother.

Agreed best ignored otherwise they'll be doing DNA tests for every crackpot and chancer on Earth.

Such a weird story. I've no idea why people would believe him.

OptimisticMermaid · 19/10/2024 17:24

I don’t want to sound like I am sure he is their son. I am more sure that he is not. But it would be so easy to disprove and they don’t. I have a healthy distrust in the royals that is probably evident.

CatchOnToYersel · 19/10/2024 17:28

And I have a healthy distrust of tales of seals singing when it was clearly something like this specimen but here we are.

But why would they want to disprove it. I couldn't care less if some bloke was saying I was his mother. If you know you haven't had a baby then what is there to disprove?

There is no way he would just go away if there was a DNA test.

It would be easy for him to have a DNA test with the woman who says she is his biological sister but he won't do that.

Au contraire.

Nothing to do with the class system and everything to do with class.

Calm down this is just a chat forum for opinions. Like everyone I'm entitled to my opinion though, right.

And my opinion is a common opinion. A lot of people have at some point questioned, why charles, who could have anyone in the world, got with Camilla.

She is commonly described as ugly, a chain smoker and not that nice.

But as people pointed out on here, what us commoners see as attractive, is not what the aristocrats see as attractive

I can't abide any of the royals, and tampongate was a particularly low point thanks to Charles and Camilla in particular, but I do think that when you look at that famous photo of them at a polo match together you can see that there was a genuine ease and, dare I say it, chemistry between them. I think it's a shame that that had to be sacrificed because of the arcane rules and traditions about who Charles could marry, especially given that all of those have been ridden over roughshod since anyway. It would have been better for Diana not to have been inducted into the madhouse too.

I think it would be great if the Aussie guy is their child - all sorts of comedic potential. The royal family is well on the way to obsolescence imo but I fear it won't actually be abolished in my lifetime. People like him give me hope.

Seems very over the top nasty? Why is that? Difference of opinion hurting you?

Rather than formulating a clear and logical argument which challenges an hereditary monarchy?
You think this kind of case is better?
Ok.

CatchOnToYersel · 19/10/2024 17:48

Why wait for him to be declared their child for comedic potential?

They should just read some posts here.

Would you care to elaborate?

I haven’t been nasty or over the top.

I appreciate different opinions.

Why have you resorted to accusations?

TeaMistress · 19/10/2024 18:04

He's obviously not a mentally well person and be seems to be fixated on this delusion. He is best ignored and kept well away from the King. The idea that providing him with a dna test would somehow give him the closure he needs to move on is a fallacy. His delusion is such that he won't accept the inevitable negative result and would only give fuel to the floodgates that would open for every other crackpot with similar delusional claims. His claims should not be given any credence.

TheSnugHare · 19/10/2024 18:22

You know as much as anyone else not involved, nothing. What if you turn out to be wrong? What if he actually is their illegitimate son?

OccasionalHope · 19/10/2024 18:25

He’s not, But if he was, he would not be entitled to anything. Even if he hadn’t been adopted.

The False Prince Down Under is an enlightening read into this delusional man.

Seems to pretty comprehensively rebut the ludicrous claims this man is making.

I'm not even sure he's delusional. Seems to me he's just a liar. Not interested in proof of his real family but continuing with his bullshit, knowing full well the royals won't offer to be tested so he can just keep up the ridiculous pretence.

CatchOnToYersel · 19/10/2024 18:52

The thing about liars is that they hurt people.

Time. And time. And time again.

They give no thought to their actions impacting on others. Just are intent on airing their truth, just not the truth.

The hurt people like this cause is nothing short of shameful.

It would be far easier to do a small test with his sister. But clearly that does not fit the agenda.

I can't imagine how his real mother must feel. No doubt she expected possible rejection but to see him care more about his little bit of fame and denying her like that must be soul destroying.

It would be so easy if he just took a dna test with his sister as the first step for him. Why won’t he?

Afterrain · 19/10/2024 19:15

Maybe Charles is his half brother and not his father?
There were lots of rumours about Philip in the 60s
