Anyone else prefer a heavy man to a skinny man?

Just that really. Just watching a video of Luke Combs. He’s heavy but sexy! My DH is heavy and 6 ft 3. Wouldn’t swap him for a skinny man ever!!

No. I’ve had to google him and he is overweight.
We are kidding ourselves with terminology here. It isn’t healthy to be that fat.
I much prefer slimmer men. I prefer it when I am slimmer. Most people do. It just takes a lot more effort.

I'm definitely not kidding on terminology, if they were identical apart from weight, I would lean towards the overweight one

But it doesn't really matter. Are they kind, do they treat people well, are they respectful, do they have nice eyes... 100 things come before how much they weigh on the scales
After all anyone could have an accident or disability and end up looking different so I would want someone I would love no matter how they look

If you can't cope with an extra 4 stone on a man can you cope if he loses an eye or a leg or gets burned or gains weight from steroids etc

I've dated men from underweight to morbidly obese and fancied them equally

augustusglupe · 19/10/2024 00:10

I fancied Meatloaf when he was fat but not when he lost weight 🤭😁

TwistedWonder · 19/10/2024 00:19

Could never be attracted to a man who wears a smaller size in jeans than me! I just don’t fancy skinny men at all.

Maybe coz I’m 5 8 and a 12/14 so I’d look odd with a thin man but I’ve always been attracted to lumps. I don’t mean fat but I like well built men, think builder types and I’d take a dad bod over a gym bunny any day of the week.

It's not about being able to cope with someone you already love gaining weight or becoming disabled.

This is about initial attraction.

And you must know it's fairly unusual to be initially attracted to someone morbidly obese, and to want to have sex with them (ignoring the possible impracticalities).

No-ones saying there aren't people out there who are attracted to morbidly obese people, otherwise fetish websites wouldn't exist.

But initial attraction is completely different to already being in love with someone who goes on to gain weight, or becomes disabled.

buffyfaithspike · 19/10/2024 00:29

Never found any impracticalities TBH, it's not been an issue in bed
I've never dated men that are say 28-30 stone which I guess is more likely when it starts getting trickier. Depends how they carry their weight but was attracted because of their face, personality etc etc
The only time I wouldn't like it was if they were unhappy with their weight but that goes for any size

I fall under obese but am a size 16/18 that exercises regularly so I get you can be heavier

BunnyLake · 19/10/2024 00:36

Aw my son is on the skinny side, he can’t help it he just got my skinny genes (I’m not skinny anymore though). He’s nice looking and a lovely lad, it saddens me to think he might be looked down on because of it. It didn’t seem to do David Tennant or David Bowie any harm so maybe there will be some nice girls out there for him, just not on here.

Devillishlooloo · 19/10/2024 00:39

I definitely prefer bigger men but not obese. I’ve never dated a skinny man.

Tinyscotch · 19/10/2024 00:43

I pictured Jason Momoa when you said heavy OP. Yes to Jason.

I don't know who Luke Combs is and I had to Google him. Afraid it's a big fat no for him.

He looks like he smells of sweaty trainers and chips. Ewww.

NoEscapingMe · 19/10/2024 00:45

Dad bod lover here

LuluBlakey1 · 19/10/2024 00:47

I don't find skinny or short men attractive physically. DH is 6 ft and just under 14 st and I like that. He was heavier but has lost about a stone. He could lose a bit more but he has broad shoulders and looks about right to me.

This is a bit of a weird reply?

Personal preference isn't 'looking down' on anyone, it's literally just personal preference.

You don't have to be a 'nice girl' to fancy boys who are slim/overweight/black/white/Asian etc

It's just down to whatever floats your boat when it comes to who/what you're most attracted to 🤷‍♂️

BeatsAntique · 19/10/2024 04:03

Chunky, beardy and heavily tattooed is my kryptonite. 😍

I’m just not attracted to slim men, I love that lumberjack look. I’ve also dated women and I’m more attracted to a 14/16+ physique, too.

Good thing we’re not all attracted to the same thing, eh?

OldTinHat · 19/10/2024 04:44

Also agree!

Mercurial123 · 19/10/2024 04:47

I guess we are all different. In my opinion, he's not sexy and very overweight. But I guess that's more normal than being on the slimmer side.

TulipCat · 19/10/2024 04:52

I prefer slim to fat every time. Bulky men look so lumbering and take up so much space.

RampantIvy · 19/10/2024 07:43

I agree. Fat men and facial hair are a complete turn off to me. I once kissed a guy with a moustache - yuck.

Pumpkincozynights · 19/10/2024 07:59

Yuck to beards-gross.

EsmeSusanOgg · 19/10/2024 08:01

Rugby player versus footballer type is how I think if it.

Easipeelerie · 19/10/2024 08:06

No, not a fan of a fat man. I imagine there’ll be more farts and body odour. I make an exception for Garron Noone from Tik Tok. He’s lovely.

boobot1 · 19/10/2024 08:08

Luke is fat, I like stocky, but not fat or thin.

Coconutter24 · 19/10/2024 08:19

I prefer a man to be bigger than me but I don’t like them fat

phoenixrosehere · 19/10/2024 08:26

Luke Combs the country singer?

If him, no.

I don’t have a preference for either heavy or skinny. Most of the men I’ve dated are slim like me or a bit bigger somewhat sporty, not bulky.

My preference is more personality-based, but someone who is inactive and has a very wide middle is unattractive to me.

ThePoshUns · 19/10/2024 08:55

foodforclouds · 18/10/2024 23:34

I just wish I was Lisa Bonnet.
can you imagine having Lenny Kravitz and Jason Momoa on your CV

Helll yes what a lucky ( and incredibly beautiful) lady she is.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 19/10/2024 09:09

It's height and shoulders for me. Tall and strong basically.

DaemonMoon · 19/10/2024 09:28

If a particular personality shines through, I'd date anyone regardless of their looks, but to initially attract me to someone I prefer neither underweight (skinny) or overweight (heavy). I like fit. Some who can do all the things I like to do.

Often on MN skinny is used to describe people with a normal body.
