Anyone else prefer a heavy man to a skinny man?

Just that really. Just watching a video of Luke Combs. He’s heavy but sexy! My DH is heavy and 6 ft 3. Wouldn’t swap him for a skinny man ever!!

i much prefer a guy with a Dad bod. I'm not at all into skinny blokes. Despite one of my LTP's being skinny, I lived him despite that, not because of it.

but purely physically I'm attracted to Dad bod, but don't find Luke Combs at all attractive. In any way.

Moonshiners · 18/10/2024 22:01

I prefer a slim/fit man personally. I like sport, mountain walking and being active so assume (perhaps wrongly) that a heavier man would be unhealthy and unfit. Also because I'm getting a bit older I would prefer someone that's going to be active and healthy in older age and live as long as possible!

Sethera · 18/10/2024 22:01

No, skinny men do it for me! I'm a chubster so possibly it's subliminal envy translated into desire. My matchstick DH can eat anything he wants without putting on a single lb, and he's in his 60s now so that's unlikely to change Envy

Choochoo21 · 18/10/2024 22:01

I definitely prefer chunkier men.

I also prefer women who have more meat on them too.

I wouldn’t not be with a guy just because he was slim but I do have a preference.

I’m not keen on men who are too muscular either.

MiddleAgedDread · 18/10/2024 22:04

Had to google him but no, fat is not attractive even if you call it “heavy”.

If this was a man that had started this thread about women's body shapes.......

Carsarelife · 18/10/2024 22:09

I don't like beer bellies so prefer skinny or muscular

@AgathaX You're right, we’re behaving like men, it’s not very nice.

But, it’s also refreshing to appreciate that we all have preferences and that they’re not all the same, thank goodness.

Male or female, we are allowed to have preferences about what we find desirable and what we don't.

Chunky men. Hell yes.
Chubby men with a nice smile. Yes maybe.
Muscle gym men. No way.
Skinny little men. Hell no.

MagneticSquirrel · 18/10/2024 22:20

No, he is overweight and it’s not muscle! Definitely don’t like fat bodytypes on a man, not fond of skinny without any muscle or strength either. But would take that instead of overweight.

A little muscle is ideal, doesn’t have to be perfect sculpted gym body with 6 pack..

PattiSmithsPattis · 18/10/2024 22:21

I would say I'm more attracted to heavy set broad men, but seem to attract the opposite 😂
My child's dad was wirey, but he was Irish and I was lost immediately 🫠
Greg Davies is hot to me, but he's also funny, to me, which helps enormously.
I once dated a really strikingly handsome man (I was just early 20s & had a shit start) he had amazing forearms, gorgeous body, beautiful in every way. But I was far too shy to let myself go in the bedroom with him because I couldn't believe it was me he actually wanted 🙄
Anyway, my time has been and gone and I admire men from afar now, far less complicated

Luke Combs is fat and has struggled with his weight all his life.

It's interesting how you use the word 'heavy' instead of fat but you don't use the word 'light' instead of skinny?

Either way, he's a good looking man but I'm not attracted to overly fat or overly skinny men.

My thoughts exactly about not saying fat, when that is what he is. I don't even think he is good looking either.

Cheeseandcrackers40 · 18/10/2024 22:25

The euphamism of heavy instead of fat makes me chuckle. My husband is "heavy" but not fat at all, he's naturally stocky and climbs for fitness. He literally has "big bones" - as in his clavicle is about 5 times thicker than mine 😂. Even when he was really fit and training for ultramarathons his bmi classed him as overweight... He also can't float which makes me laugh.

Anyway I like my heavy guy but no I'm not naturally physically attracted to unfit, overweight people. I think because yoga is a big part of my life I like that he also has a fitness hobby that he enjoys - plus both of us are happier when we get our endorphin kick from exercise.

ThePoshUns · 18/10/2024 22:26

I'd rather a skinny hipped rocker myself

Willyoushutthefrontdoor · 18/10/2024 22:27

My OH is overweight. He's 57. He has never been slim.and never will be. His shoulders are huge! His muscles on arms and legs are also huge and he does have a pot belly now. He eats so healthily and goes to the gym too. I'm.a size 12. Hate the gym And im 52. We get married next Saturday after 12 years together. We were both slimmer when we met. But he has a beard. And I bloody love beards! He's also a really good man. I don't have a type. My first husband was slim build. But he had a beard lol

NotSoHotMess24 · 18/10/2024 22:37

I'd have chunky over skinny any day!

I guess it's all just personal preference though.

If this was a man that had started this thread about women's body shapes.......

He'd be told to sling his hook. And rightly so. Why would the women on MN want to hear the opinions of some random bloke on the body shape he prefers? It's bad enough when they pop up on other threads about women's looks to bore on about what they find attractive. No one cares. On the other hand it's most interesting to hear from other women what their tastes are in men.

CoffeeAndATwix · 18/10/2024 22:41

My wonderful, adorable husband is very skinny! (and v tall, so he looks very long and thin!) He's a bit obsessed with healthy eating and body fat, sadly. Personally, I think he'd b healthier if he added a few pounds and I love the occasional time he starts to get a belly!!! But it is what it is! We r all different shapes and sizes!

ApolloandDaphne · 18/10/2024 22:41

I love a skinny man My DH is skinny with a tight butt.

piscofrisco · 18/10/2024 22:44

Me. Skinny men are girlish to me somehow and I don't fancy them.

This! Snake hips and a bit androgynous looking all the way.

TulipTuesday · 18/10/2024 22:53

I like a chunky man. I prefer a bloke to be a lot bigger than me. DH is 6’1 and about 17 stone I think.
The only skinny guy I fancy is David Platt from Corrie 😜

OMG I can hardly look at David Platt! 🙈

He always looks like he needs a good wash and like he's still sporting a lockdown hairstyle 😊

No, I don't find fat attractive at all, even when you call it 'heavy' or any other euphemism.

Me neither.
DH has always been slim, but he is now very underweight due to illness, but I still love him.
