Anyone else prefer a heavy man to a skinny man?

Just that really. Just watching a video of Luke Combs. He’s heavy but sexy! My DH is heavy and 6 ft 3. Wouldn’t swap him for a skinny man ever!!

The euphamism of heavy instead of fat makes me chuckle. My husband is "heavy" but not fat at all, he's naturally stocky and climbs for fitness. He literally has "big bones" - as in his clavicle is about 5 times thicker than mine 😂. Even when he was really fit and training for ultramarathons his bmi classed him as overweight... He also can't float which makes me laugh.

Anyway I like my heavy guy but no I'm not naturally physically attracted to unfit, overweight people. I think because yoga is a big part of my life I like that he also has a fitness hobby that he enjoys - plus both of us are happier when we get our endorphin kick from exercise.

That’s my DH as well @Cheeseandcrackers40 , he’s built like a brick privy! He’s very strong and muscular, he can easily pick me up and throw me over his shoulder-yummy!

Agreed. My MIL keeps crowing about the 2st weight loss of my BIL. It's aged him 10 years and he has the gaunt face of a frail old man now. Give me DH and his round tummy and big face any day.

BIL has probably improved his health and increased his life expectancy. Doubt he is too bothered about whether SIL finds him hot

pollypocket90 · 18/10/2024 23:18

Absolutely!

CaneToad · 18/10/2024 23:19

Robbie Coltrane was very attractive. I like a big guy.

WhatAreYouListeningTo · 18/10/2024 23:21

I don't like skinny or fat, just a man who is a healthy weight.

I'm an a massive Luke Combs fan though, his voice is fantastic. He seems like a nice guy, other than the hunting, but lots of my favourite country music singers seem to do that unfortunately.

Swivelhead · 18/10/2024 23:23

All my boyfriends have looked very different from one another- height, physique, race, all different. They were all attractive at the time. I did love the one fat bloke I was with but his belly, er, got in the way of things.

You should’ve put some kind of warning, I was not prepared for the Fanny fluters that gave me

BruFord · 18/10/2024 23:25

Slimming down is healthy @Swivelhead but “gaunt” suggests hollow-cheeked and possibly undernourmished. The poster might be exaggerating, of course.

JMSA · 18/10/2024 23:28

Yes, I love a tall well-built man. Definitely doesn't have to be muscly or well-sculpted!
I'd look ridiculous with a skinny man, as I'm curvy myself. Ok, a bit fat. It just wouldn't be a good fit.

Copperoliverbear · 18/10/2024 23:31

I prefer bigger men too.

foodforclouds · 18/10/2024 23:34

I just wish I was Lisa Bonnet.
can you imagine having Lenny Kravitz and Jason Momoa on your CV

If he was overweight, he'll be healthier now and he isn't there to be attractive to you.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 18/10/2024 23:41

It's not the body that would put me off that man but the beard
🤢
I hate them!

Grazyna80 · 18/10/2024 23:42

Yup , bigger is better.

'Gaunt' seems to be the go-to phrase used for people who have successfully lost weight.

It's often used by people who for their own reasons, don't seem to like successful weightloss in others.

Femme2804 · 18/10/2024 23:46

I prefer lean gym body. I dont like too big muscular man. But i really really dont like fat man. I consider luke combs is fat. Looks very unhealthy. I’ll be very worried all the time about illness if i’m his wife.

Yes, there’s definitely a difference between slim and gaunt @LawksALordyMyBottomsOnFire . Most people I know are slim, only a couple are gaunt and don’t look particularly well. They both have eating problems, unfortunately. 🙁

Maddy70 · 18/10/2024 23:52

Skinny men and muscle men are a huge turn off for me i like a man with a bit of meat on them. Not fat but " well built "

Im super glad we all have our own preferences. It really does mean there is someone for everyone. Its about time women stopped trying to diet /botox etc and realise that men have the same variation in types of women they find attractive

Moonshine5 · 18/10/2024 23:52

Does size matter?
Is it linked to being "looked after"?
Are you bigger and prefer a partner larger than you?

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 18/10/2024 23:55

MasterBeth · 18/10/2024 21:03

WTF?

Good God, no. I'm not into very skinny or extremely muscular men but give me a toned bloke over this guy. He just looks a big fella who eats too much junk and guzzled Diet Coke all day.

ClearFruit · 18/10/2024 23:55

Luke Combs is fat, unfit and sweaty. No thanks.

Pumpkincozynights · 18/10/2024 23:56

No. I’ve had to google him and he is overweight.
We are kidding ourselves with terminology here. It isn’t healthy to be that fat.
I much prefer slimmer men. I prefer it when I am slimmer. Most people do. It just takes a lot more effort.

I'm starting to think that's the sort of response OP wanted.

wouldnt thank you for either to be honest...
