London is known for it's crafty mice. DD has been in two third floor flats that mice have managed to get into. Amazing.

She has just moved to a ground floor, and the previous owner didn't sort out the mouse problem, despite saying he would. So, she has a mousey family living in her boiler cupboard. The bait has gone, but the mouse is still visiting..... I think she needs to get the pest man in.

As a Londoner, have to say - just get pest control in.

They know how to get the buggers in a way that you can't replicate with home traps/poisons. They know how they behave, the routes they will take etc.

Mice can reproduce every few weeks, the longer you faff around with trying to DIY it, the more you will have to deal with.

Trust me, we have been there.

I recommend Porters Pest control if you're in South London

Fab. Thank you.

It's back again this evening and avoiding every trap! It's not nocturnal at all.

Mice aren’t nocturnal, they’re mostly crepuscular but when needed they will be active at any point of the day.

I am absolutely terrified of the fuckers. I live rurally these days. Bait the traps with mars bars. Really squish if on there. You also need either a jack russle or a cat. Best of luck.

I wouldn't be saying this if it was my house but that is really cute 😂

That was my first thought too and I had them six months ago and did not think they were cute at all!

Lilith666 · 20/10/2024 09:27

Awww, OP, he is really cute!! It's odd that he is avoiding all the traps. I think he just loves living with you, perhaps it's time to give him a name!!

WineLover21 · 22/10/2024 16:47

So the traps have been out since last week and I haven't seen the mouse since! Nor have I caught him?

He may have found his own way out again then - you never know. If he has, unfortunately it possibly means others will find their way in again, but you'll just have to wait and see unfortunately!

What bait are you using?

Has the mouse taken it while dodging the traps?

WineLover21 · 22/10/2024 18:33

@IcedPurple peanut butter and Nutella.

No sign of the mouse and I found a little hole he was running between and blocked it up.

He's not been back since!

Also using bait blocks. I've got about 6. No sign of him, no droppings, nothing... where has he gone?

That's a good choice of bait as it's sticky and irresistible to the little critters!

If he literally hasn't taken the bait and you've not seen signs of him you may be in luck!
