And why?

I've never been a collector, have moved over a hundred times and have no emotions towards physical things but I always think it would be nice to collect something, it must be satisfying finding something for your collection or saving up to get something etc

Dust, finance papers, stationery, books, mags, pens, different colours post-it note blocks

MirrorMirror1247 · 14/10/2024 22:28

I collect programmes from concerts and theatre shows I go to. I've got a couple from sporting events too, the Six Nations and Wimbledon. Even if it's just a small local amateur production, if there's a programme, I'm buying it!

Frogs. I love frogs.
I have a garden pond specifically for frogs, who come hopping back each year to spawn. They come hopping into the house if I have the door open.
I have frog related stuff in my home, ornaments etc.
I love frogs. 🐸

Swimwear. Mainly from charity shops. Often from charity shops but as new with tags.
Yet I nearly always wear the same faded baggy workhorse set in the pool. No fiddling with straps etc, it's just right.

When he was very little my son used to collect sherds of pottery he found in gardens, countryside etc. He built up a small but interesting collection, including a couple of Roman bits.
DH collects model cars - he dusts them himself 😁
I am a dreadful accumulator of stuff - stamps and coins as a child, now huge numbers of books, computer games and we have a large number of ornaments of a particular animal and amusement arcade games. We are trying very hard right now to resist buying a coin pusher game (think the quiz show "Tipping Point").

I collect hag stones from the beach - stones with holes in them. I have these on every windowsill, shelf, and in most jacket pockets and bags I will find one.

And fabric - I collect lots of fabric. Too much!

Stamps, books (stupid numbers thereof), and artisan dolls house miniatures, ready for the day when I have the time, money and space to build the miniature house of my dreams ☺️

Buy the coin pusher!! I used to love the 2p machines when I was little. Do you all have big houses or manage to have collections in ordinary spaces? I have a big living room and kitchen diner and that's it! Maybe I should buy some shelves
