I have been told they're multiple colours from people over the years. I have no idea what they are! My dc told me they're yellow? 🤣

They are Hazel, which means you have inherited blue and brown pigment markers. The end result is classed as ‘light’ eyes, along with people who are blue eyed. If you have children with someone with similar eye colour then you would have a 25% chance if gushing a child with blue eyes.

@Tygertiger my green eye gets greener when I'm tired

Bizarrely your eyes are incredibly like both my granddaughters. The girls are chalk and cheese kids. One fair, one dark but they have these unusual grey/hazel eyes.

It’s not bizarre - eyes generally look fairly similar within a quite small range of general colours.

Your granddaughters do not have unusual eyes. See above. They will in fact be incredibly boring.

I assure you it doesn’t. Just think about this and how it would work if it could possibly be true. Your eye colour is caused by the amount of melanin in your iris. That doesn’t come and go depending on fatigue.

Blushingm · 06/10/2024 15:30

Ok it 'appears' greener.......🙄 pupils can dilate which changes appearance which can be tiredness, emotion, hormones etc etc

Why the spitefulness? Are you generally a mean girl? What's wrong with the poster having a little bit of joy in her granddaughters' eyes?

Why do so many people on Mumsnet have to bring others down? I don't get it.

I am now going to find a picture of my son's completely boring amber eyes just to bore you a bit more.

Here's DS. His eyes match his hair. Might be boring but I love them.

Wow there's some bitter posters on this thread.

Really horrible. For no reason whatsoever. Really quite sad you have time to not only come on to a thread you have no interest in but then take the time to compose posts saying as such.

Aww, what beautiful eyes, my dcs have blue so far, although one of them is looking like his may be changing. I find eyes fascinating too, I love seeing them, they're all unique, and I think you can tell alot from them!

Exactly, there is no need for it. Everybody finds different things interesting. It is really strange that they're lurking on a thread they don't like, why even come on it.
As one of my dear relatives says: "nowt as funny as folk." I love eyes, so they can go and do what ever they do that they find so interesting, but obviously not interesting enough, to be distracted by this 😂

I have these eyes too.
In French at school we were always having to say what colour our eyes and hair were for some reason.

We had that in first school. Back then green was the predominant colour, they have became more mixed as I have gotten older, so I just went with that. The options were brown, blue and green, hazel wasn't even on the radar, crazy!

My eyes are green in the middle and a smoky grey outside.

Is this one of those trick questions that you ask your DH after 20 years of marriage?

I have blue, grey, brown and green eyes in both families. I’m an only child and if I had siblings- they would have different eyes

Goldengirl123 · 07/10/2024 10:59

Mine are similar. They are hazel
