I know, without having to open them, that I will be bored or irritated by threads about:

  • Parking (why do people find this interesting?)
  • Anything involving a diagram
  • Anything describing someone in the thread title as a narcissist
  • Anything about Brexit
  • Any thread in which someone describes themselves as “fuming” (or fumming)
  • Weddings or hen nights. Discussion about the etiquette of having children at weddings makes me want to put myself in front of a firing squad
  • Most of the trans related threads (though I think there are some important discussions)

I normally open them anyway 🤣. Anyone else?

Trans threads because I’m in the minority in that I support trans rights so the threads really trigger me!

Congratulations, here's your "be kind" medal.

"Fumming" 😂. I know just what you mean but I'd have to open that one for sheer curiosity!

MMBaranova · 28/09/2024 17:45

If it starts with “So”.

Oh and my all time pet hate:

People who hate “people” and wrongly attribute this to them being “introverted”.

And in the same vein, people who find friends “too much drama” and would rather spend all their time with “my little family”. Cringe.

You know those people usually are the drama and just can’t get along with anyone 😂 and they’ll be the same ones crying about not having a village if and when a partner leaves etc or if they feel lonely after the kids fly the next.

For me it's the ones where the OP posts a picture of their pregnancy scan like, "The sonographer told me it was a boy but I still think it could be a girl, does this look like a girl to you?"

GreenWheat · 28/09/2024 19:48

Any thread where people are spouting utter claptrap about things "invalidating your house insurance".

JWhipple · 28/09/2024 19:58

Anything where someone is a narcissist.

FFS. How many actual narcissists are there? Narcissistic personality disorder was one of the rarest conditions to the point it was being removed as a diagnosis. Now apparently everyone's ex/boss/parent on Mumsnet is a full blown narcissist.

JWhipple · 28/09/2024 20:04

Oh and anything to do with "donning my hard hat,"

It's smug, twee and honestly....why?!? Why are you posting if you're expecting to have strangers on the internet throw rocks at your head or whatever you think will happen with your nonsense.

Unless you are actually donning your hard hat, amd want our opinion on whether it suits.you or if you should get one in another colour.
