Told I can’t use this premium bonds money for our house deposit as it’s illegal?

We have two premium bonds accounts. One is in my name and one is in DD’s name. We have 50k in mine and 30k in DD’s.

we are now in a position to buy a home. We will need the 50k for a deposit and we also need the 30k for things like stamp duty, new sofa, to do a small bit of work that needs doing in the downstairs etc.

I have been told by a friend it’s illegal to use Dd’s 30k for this? This is money we have saved from our income but now our circumstances have changed we need it. Surely premium bonds should tell you this before you invest??

I just went to transfer some money out of my premium bonds and saw in one click I can move from my kids accounts to mine.
This is v diff to an isa when you literally can’t access it. If money in the kids accounts was theirs and theirs forever more you wouldn’t be able to move in one click.

My parents used my savings account (most of which had been gifted by relatives) to purchase their house in the 1960’s.
Even as a 5-year old I remember feeling unhappy they had “stolen” my savings.
They never made an effort to pay it back, either - and had the audacity to state that I owed them more than they ever owed me (their child, who they had chosen to have, and for whom they were responsible) when I asked about it, 5 years later…
