Lurpac £4

I left unopened Azera coffee in my kitchen for airbnb guest to use & they stole it! Sign of the inflated times?

Yes stuff has gone up. But a hell of a lot of wages have too.5 years ago my cleaner charged £11 an hour.... now she charged £17. 5 years ago I earned £95k now I earn £150k.

Wage inflation goes hand in hand with rising prices. I don't really get why people are surprised.

Most people's wages haven't got up like that. Mines increased by £4k in 5 years.

I bought bin bags in the USA in July- they were $10, D-I-L wanted Glad not own brand 😱

VioletladyGrantham · 27/09/2024 19:06

Sainsburys last weekend wanted £38.00 for a leg of lamb. The last time l bought one it was £22.00

Pliudev · 27/09/2024 19:07

I was just about to put a litre of semi skimmed in my basket at M&S when I noticed the 2 litre bottle was only 25p more even though the smaller bottle had a promotion label saying it was extra good value. I pointed out to the assistant refilling the shelf that it really wasn't good value at all. She looked at it, laughed and said 'No it's not is it?''
The label is still there.

muttley68 · 27/09/2024 19:24

Vanish spray £6!

Aliciainwunderland · 27/09/2024 19:34

Lurpak spreadable. Need to remortgage the house 😞

Jaxhog · 27/09/2024 19:39

Reblochon cheese in Waitrose £11 for 450 grammes!

Admittedly it's made from raw cows milk and is the best cheese for making Tarteflette (cheesy potato). But really?

neepsa · 27/09/2024 08:09

100%. NHS and no change.

Most of the private sector outside of big companies hasn't had one either.

Oh my Lord, read the room.

SOME wages went up, mine did a tiny bit then my hours got cut, so overall less money both coming out of my employers budget and far less in my pocket..
Am sure I am not alone in this

Horsemum40 · 27/09/2024 20:20

Co op is ridiculously overpriced. Dog chews for £9.95!! Nescafe £10. Everything more expensive there. Other than that, £4.50 for bisto gravy in Tesco

whoputallofthatthere · 27/09/2024 20:39

JC03745 · 26/09/2024 20:00

Tesco- salted butter, own brand- £3. Which is £12 a kilo!

I commented to someone on exactly this the other day! A couple of years ago a block of own-brand butter was £1.50 at most. £3 is a ridiculous price.

Because not everyone’s wages have gone up!

BeardofHagrid · 27/09/2024 23:16

Milk and More have got some crackers including six eggs for £3.95 😅

I bet they were good bin bags though, what were they made of - angora wool?

Not keen on the Temu ones.

I just posted a negative post on another firm selling bin bags but it was put aside for the site managers to pass it.

If you can mention Tesco and Co-op in a post, why not other companies selling the same things?

My nhs wages have gone up £1000 a year in that time. So not everyone's wages no.

Meanwhile in the public sector

this year my salary increase went up by the equivalent of £2.30 a day

and a new car park charge has been bought in if you want to park at work. £2.50 a day
