Yes stuff has gone up. But a hell of a lot of wages have too.5 years ago my cleaner charged £11 an hour.... now she charged £17. 5 years ago I earned £95k now I earn £150k.

Wage inflation goes hand in hand with rising prices. I don't really get why people are surprised.

Are you a train driver?

co op has always been ridiculously priced for everything might as well get it delivered from Waitrose off Uber eats

The Co op provides convenience stores for communities and does so in circumstances where other retailers wouldn't as the stores are not profitable. For every high priced item there's a ridiculously cheap offer.

Crispynoodle · 26/09/2024 23:16

I saw a tub of lurpak once that was £7.50

Yes, that's the one. I like the pourer too! I feel like Jamie fucking Oliver drizzling out of my little spout .

Me too! Without it I’m splashing so much EVO about it’s going all over the walls.

Teapigs teabags £9.15!!!

Teapigs are terrible teas, completely ridiculous, weak tea and if you squeeze the bag to try in desperation to get something, anything, out of them...they split.

FreeSausages · 26/09/2024 23:32

ObliviousCoalmine · 26/09/2024 21:33

Where the fuck are you shopping?!

Tesco.

100g tins £8.15 in Sainsbury’s…. They were £7.50 not that long ago.

It's probably because they'll put it on Nectar "offer" next week, and then it's back to £7.50!

Tesco- salted butter, own brand- £3. Which is £12 a kilo!

Tesco salted butter is £1.69 online.
Did you go into a Tesco Metro? I think they charge higher prices 8n small stores.

I earn slightly more, but the cliff-edge means that everything over £100k goes into my pension - neither me nor the economy will benefit from the extra for years.
The £60k in tax and NI I pay is the price of living in a civilised society - but I'd prefer it was spent more carefully.

EdgeOfSixty · 26/09/2024 23:46

Ambrosia rice pudding £1.60.
Before Covid it was £1 and often on offer 2 for £1.50.

HalloweenGrinch · 26/09/2024 21:28

Olive harvests have been decimated by disease and poor weather conditions, so the increase in price is nothing to do with the blatant profiteering that processed food producers charge.

I am not buying Pukka tea bags at £5 a box much as I love them. They are on sale at at Waitrose currently at £3.50.

Head down to Lidl or Aldi. Lidl green tea is £0.59 for 40 bags. I th8nk lemon and ginger is approx £1.25 for 40 bags.

mondaytosunday · 27/09/2024 00:01

50gr of Ibérico ham at Waitrose for £12.95.

@Getonwitit

well I'd better 'get on with it' & find it online/some kind of streaming then hadn't I.!! Sort out my lack of!!😁

Fatfreefatball · 27/09/2024 00:04

Home Bargains - I was stunned when a woman picked up a bottle of shampoo and matching conditioner by Tigi which were £7.50 each. £15 literally down the drain. Think some people have forgotten the value of money. I can remember when I could drive 60 miles on a fiver of petrol 😂

BashfulClam · 26/09/2024 21:42

AutumnTimeForCosy24 · 27/09/2024 00:16

Blahblahgoat · 26/09/2024 22:04

Bag of chopped walnuts in Waitrose. £7.20

@Blahblahgoat

IhateHPSDeaneCnt · 27/09/2024 02:06

Cardboardeaux · 26/09/2024 20:55

I saw a 2023 diary for sale in WH Smith the other day, full price!

Yes, but you do get a half price bar of chocolate with that so...

Oblomov24 · 27/09/2024 02:21
