Labour voters - do you regret voting for them?

They got off to a really bad start and it's just gone downhill ever since. Within a couple of weeks we practically had martial law, we've had riots you name it. Law and order has completely broken down. They've cut the pensioners fuel allowance and all the while they've had their snouts in the trough. 2 tier Keir approval rating has fallen off a cliff - the country has had enough already lol.

Aibu to think that those who voted them in should apologise.

65% of pensioners own their own homes outright, so no rent to pay or mortgage, yet they want benefits. Whilst those working earning 35k are spending half there income on rent or mortgage.

about time pensioners stopped wanting benefits to stop for everyone else but still want it for themselves

if they can’t afford to heat a 3 bed house, they can sell up and move somewhere smaller

What an original thread.

You can get back under your rock for the next 4 years and wait for the next election like we had to do for 14 fucking years.

At least it will only be 4 years!

SkaterGrrrrl · 23/09/2024 21:54

Jesus, OP. They have only been in power for 5 minutes. How can you possibly start judging their record?

Catterbat · 23/09/2024 17:41

I just switch off when anyone uses the ‘two tier Kier’ slogan. Bit like ‘the woke brigade’ or ‘remoaners’ etc. I don’t think people understand how thick it makes them sound.

Keir

Of course you're being unreasonable to ask labour voters for an apology 😅

I don't regret voting labour. It's interesting how the tabloids and non labour supporters have seemingly forgotten the absolute shit show that was the Tory party beforehand!!!!

This.
The r/wing media bosses are targeting Labour.

Hopefully not. I’m hoping never to see another Tory government in my lifetime.

I am always a little suspicious of posters who don't seem to know that UK parliaments run for 5 years...

I was replying to someone who quoted 4 years.

ShamblesRock · 23/09/2024 22:20

No, don't regret it.

HRTQueen · 23/09/2024 22:25

No not for one minute

CraftyOP · 23/09/2024 22:26

I'm glad they're doing something about wfa. The only way they can help people that need it most is by directing money to the right place. The pension increase is way more than the wfa and not all pensioners need it by any stretch.

WhatMe123 · 23/09/2024 22:28

Nope 😁

hardtocare · 23/09/2024 22:39

Of course I don't regret it. They have accomplished a lot of good stuff

Can’t be bothered to search but I’m pretty sure this is the reform voter that claimed they voted Labour on the other thread they started.

That's a bit wick if it's true.😒 It's one thing to criticise the government but why lie about voting for them? This is an anonymous forum, if you can't be honest here, where's your integrity?

So did you vote Labour or Reform in the last election @MeadowL?

Leniriefenstahl · 23/09/2024 23:31

She/he says that she is a reform voter in a previous thread. Not reet bright either.

penelopelady · 23/09/2024 23:32

Oh have they given 36 billion to their mates?
Have they had a party and danced on peoples graves?
Have they trashed the NHS?
I could go All night with the sickening behaviour of the last lot.

OneLilacCrow · 24/09/2024 08:29

The self employed and the elderly will be paying
the price for a Labour government. Add to that anyone who can’t go on strike. Handing out massive pay rises to train drivers and junior doctors (the latter of whom will soon be senior doctors on £100000 a year) will be paid for by those with no economic power. How people can possibly think the previous government was worse is beyond my comprehension.

Really ? So all the corruption and bad choices of the previous government have paled into insignificance after a few months of labour ? Wow. Another Farage supporter eh ?

You don't know what a junior doctor is do you?

Just think, if the tories had just awarded inflationary pay rises while in power instead of real-terms pay cuts then we probably wouldn't have been in this situation today.

But, given you think that awarding restorative pay rises adw worse than the cash for access scandal, plebgate scandal, expenses scandal, windrush scandal, Dominic Cummings scandal, Elphicke, Roberts, Khan, Warburton, and Pincher sexual assault scandals, partygate scandal, free school meals scandal, Greensill scandal, Hancock scandal, Dories scandal, Paterson lobbying scandal, tractor porn scandal, Hester scandal and the election betting scandal, I'm not sure your moral compass is a particularly good barometer of right and wrong.

JandLandG · 24/09/2024 13:59

1apenny2apenny · 23/09/2024 15:13

@JandLandG - I agree that the last 5 prime ministers were appalling however the worst one ever, without a doubt, was Tony Blair.

Hmmmm...why would you say that?

Why?

I think we all probably know - something to do with the Daily Mail or Daily Express, perhaps???

I'm probably a bit older than you and we had children in early 2000s; let me tell you that the infrastructure for families was non-existent in the UK before Blair.

We'd go to Germany or somewhere on hols and it was ace for families.

Surestart etc etc came in with Blair and things were transformed.

The schools and hospitals were dilapidated before Blair. He fixed them...somewhat.

You can have a discussion about how some of it was funded...but I don't think you referring to that, were you?

newnamethanks · 24/09/2024 15:35

That was a great KS conference speech, haters. He's not keen on you, either.

CeruleanBelt · 24/09/2024 15:39

I'm not apologising for my vote - what stupid thing to say.

I'm happy with the WFA cuts, their response to the riots and the VAT being added to school fees. What would i need to apologise for?

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 24/09/2024 15:40

They've made a few missteps but a lot of the issues have arisen as a result of 14 years of Tory mismanagement. I'll be waiting until I can judge them on their own performance, thanks.

As for apologising? Have those who voted the Tories in apologised for that shitshow yet? And have those that voted for Brexit apologised for the mess that it has left us in? Thought not....

Greenbirdblue · 24/09/2024 15:41

Lol no, not at all.

SocksAndTheCity · 24/09/2024 15:41

I'm self employed, @OneLilacCrow and I've voted Labour all my life. I can well afford to contribute by paying my proper dues and I'm happy to do so because unlike the last government and their pals, I'm not a greedy, selfish parasite.
