If you were to have a 'lock-in' overnight - anywhere in the world - where would it be?

I might choose the Louvre and see everything at my own pace, without the crowds.
What about you?

Oh, I've just realised that 'lock in' has pub vibes. Well, feel free to choose your favourite!

Bluestocking pub, funnily enough they sometimes speak franglais’s there.

BMW6 · 21/09/2024 16:01

Tower of London please. I'd love to explore off the tourist routes.

Plexie · 21/09/2024 16:02

Victoria and Albert Museum. I'd set up a camp bed in the Silver gallery and have a great view of the beautiful ceiling.

DoreenonTill8 · 21/09/2024 16:03

The Winchester.

OneTC · 21/09/2024 16:05

Yeah a museum would be great, I'd probably choose the science museum. Would be a tight run thing with a giant American department store though,

For drinking there was a bar that me and my OH met in and it's no longer there, they used to do lock ins quite frequently and you were always there until it was light, would be cool to get that back for a night

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 21/09/2024 16:06

Buckingham Palace please.

BeerForMyHorses · 21/09/2024 16:07

Windsor castle.

LightDrizzle · 21/09/2024 16:09

Windsor Castle for me too please. No locked doors, files or cupboards.

NoraLuka · 21/09/2024 16:11

Ikea. I’d stock up on food from the shop then go and relax in a lovely tidy living room with matching furniture.

Find the stash of meatballs and marvel at it

The national railway museum at York. I would get the keys and go into all the classic carriages, and sleep in the Royal train.

poppyzbrite4 · 21/09/2024 16:15

The Hermitage.

Elle200 · 21/09/2024 16:19

Going to head back to the 1980's for my lock in, the Kilmarnock Arms in Cruden Bay. Those were the days 🥰😋🫣😄

Fescue · 21/09/2024 16:22

I would lie on the floor of the Sistine Chapel and orgasm all night long.

Would it be a screaming orgasm? 😃

Ladyzfactor · 21/09/2024 16:51

One of the museums near me used to do adult sleep over parties. You brought a sleeping bag and could sleep over. Booze was also provided. Unfortunately I was never able to do it.

dreamer24 · 21/09/2024 16:55

Are we allowed to take items without repercussion? That would change my answer 😂

icouldholditwithacobweb · 21/09/2024 17:02

Foyles, Charing Cross Road.

Beforetheend · 21/09/2024 17:17

I fantasise about getting trapped in a library for a few of days after an earthquake. I’d just happen to be stopping in after picking up cheese, wine, bread and chocolate. Pre internet of course.

dramafarm · 21/09/2024 17:18

My local big shopping centre. When I was young I used to daydream about being locked in there overnight so I could play with all the toys in the toy shops, play with all the perfume bottles in Body Shop, play with the animals in the pet shop and jump on all the ends in the mattress shop. Now I'm older I would love to try in all the clothes and eat all the food from M&S Food Hall.

Theimpossiblegirl · 21/09/2024 17:20

Harrods would be fun as long as I had unlimited access to the food hall.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 21/09/2024 17:41

Books for Cooks in Notting Hill or the Bodleian Library in Oxford

justfornow1 · 21/09/2024 17:41

I absolutely wouldn't want to! But this is a suggestion for someone braver!

Shepton Mallet Prison (obvs closed now) they do overnight lock ins, apparently it's very haunted!

I'd rather a cupcake store that's just been stocked up for the morning!

A big branch of John Lewis
