To cut the front piece of my hair off? With pics

More noticeable when I’ve used a headband but I have an uneven hairline.

I’m tempted to just cut off that small piece at the front. But realise I’ll have to keep cutting it forever or I’ll have a tuff.

Help please before I grab the scissors.

It's up to you man. But I guarantee nobody notices it as it now. They will if you cut it and have a permanent tuft.

FatBuccaneer · 20/09/2024 12:19

I've got a huge widows peak that Dracula would be proud of - for those saying "have a fringe" we can't, the hair grows sideways so a generic fringe doesn't work and would never sit down properly.

That bit of my hair is always the first to suffer breakage as well, it's just weak and annoying. And when you catch it in a sort of side-sweep, it separates and dangles there in it's own little world...I beat it into submission with straighteners then trap it with hairspray.

I wouldn't cut it off personally, you might end up regretting the maintenance afterwards, but...you do you. If you really want it gone though, yours is quite dainty compared to my Eddie Munster hairline, so plucking might be the best way. In my opinion.

I have a bit of hair in the same place and I did cut it off once in my late teens. Even then you could still see the hair roots clear, looked silly when growing back and took ages to grow out I actually had to get a hairdresser to help blend it in don’t do it. wasn’t the end of the world but I really regretted it straight away and people noticed it an asked why I’d cut it lol x

Go for a side parting. Alyson Hannigan has one and if you look at photos of her, she always looks great but the side parting works better than when she has a middle part IMO.

You have a widows peak. It's a beautiful hairline that I'd love to have.

That’s amazing, I never would’ve noticed those celebs’ hairlines, Chris Hemsworth in particular.

heartsinvisiblefury · 20/09/2024 16:42

No - absolutely not!!!!! The result when you've cut it off is laughable. Take it from someone who may have done the very same!!!

RedheadedSoulStealer · 20/09/2024 17:16

Your tone is really abrasive OP. Is this your usual communication style?

Shave it off if you want, but I recommend also waxing it as stubble/short hairs in that area would both look and feel odd.

Smartiepants79 · 20/09/2024 17:28

I REALLY hope you’re joking.
If you cut it you will have to shave it, at least every other day in order for it to not start growing back and show as stubble. You have dark hair it will show.
If you’re serious you’d be much better plucking out the small amount of hair. Again, you’ll need to keep doing it.
Can I suggest you spend less time looking at it in the mirror.

I was trying to be kind! You are right, don’t do anything for others. My comment was in kindness in a it’s not as noticeable or awful as you think way.

Because I don’t need comments of no one even notices because if I do or don’t cut it then I’m doing it because I want to - what does it matter if everyone in the world notices or no one does?

Again in kindness, why ask? Do it if it you want to and it makes you feel better about yourself. You opened with…
Help please before I grab the scissors.

Hopefully today is less stressful for you.

It’s not as awful and noticeable as you think?

Jesus. Thats like saying to someone “you’re not as fat as you think”

Only one person has ever said anything to me and that was a hairdresser. I’ve never thought it looked awful, I just notice it because I style my hair so often.

If that’s you being kind then

I know someone who did this when we were young and it looked very bad there was always a tiny bit of.short hair. It took so long for it to grow back out. Maybe you could use something to slick it back or something

SkaneTos · 20/09/2024 21:50

I would not cut it off, If I were you.
I think it's beautiful to have a widow's peak.
I wish I had one.

But of course, you should do what you want with your own hair.

ToastCrumbsInMyBed · 20/09/2024 22:13

Don't cut it. It's a perfectly normal widow's peak. So many people have them and I think they are the nicest type of hairline. Google famous actors who have them. I don't know why you see it as some type of flaw.

UpUpUpU · 21/09/2024 09:23

I was going to leave a comment. But this pretty much sums up what I'm thinking ...

Crikey.

Yes i'd shave it off.

Do a line right across, a bit into the whole hairline.
