To cut the front piece of my hair off? With pics

More noticeable when I’ve used a headband but I have an uneven hairline.

I’m tempted to just cut off that small piece at the front. But realise I’ll have to keep cutting it forever or I’ll have a tuff.

Help please before I grab the scissors.

No don't do that! Leave it and dye it grey then call yourself Rogue

Because I don’t need comments of no one even notices because if I do or don’t cut it then I’m doing it because I want to - what does it matter if everyone in the world notices or no one does? I

Well, do what you want with it then?! Why are you even asking?

CBM40 · 19/09/2024 17:01

Cutting that piece of hair off won't change your hairline tho. You'd have to remove it from the root eg wax or laser. If you cut it the hair will still be there. Just shorter.

MumsKnackeredTaxi · 19/09/2024 17:02

Don't do it. I did that aged 6 and looked like a baby penguin as per picture. Not saying you will but I still have nightmares about it.

If you want to do it, I would start by plucking the outer edge of the section and gradually increasing the area. If you do it over a bit of time, and you change your mind the regrowth won't be as bad. If you really are committed to keeping it up you could shave it off and use one of those ipl hair removal devices or get it lasered. It's a very small bit of hair and if it makes you feel happier, do it. Regrowth really won't be that bad, just start by letting the inner section grow and keep plucking the outer edge, gradually decreasing over time.

Bumcake · 19/09/2024 17:09

Do it! It will look hilarious.

Alpolonia · 19/09/2024 17:11

As someone with alopecia, don’t do it!!

HazelWicker · 19/09/2024 17:14

Don't get rid. I did and keeping it gone was even more annoying.

UpUpUpU · 19/09/2024 17:15

I have honestly never even thought about my hairline. Just took a photo to see what mine is like and I have quite a distinct widows peak that is off centre. The thought of shaving it every day seems a bit crazy. But you do it if it will make you happy. And post a picture too!

shakeitoffshakeacocktail · 19/09/2024 17:17

I mess with my hair line often!

Men are allowed to manipulate their hair lines and it's not weird!

It's my hair and I'll have my hair line how I please thank you!

My friend says it looked fine before, from a photo but I do it once a month or so

Sometimes pluck but more often use very sharp nail scissors. I don't cut straight, I put the scissors on my skin and cut very close, I'm careful not to do anything straight so it won't grow back funny and I always do a bit less than I want to do I don't overdo it.

I usually do it when I due my hair as it's more noticeable then.

It's your hair, do what you want with it.

Oh I love Rockhoppers though! It’s their eyebrows that are mad, but they are very cute in person ( or should that be in animal?!)

shakeitoffshakeacocktail · 19/09/2024 17:21

That's about 3 weeks regrowth doesn't look bad because it grows across not down, if you can guess where I usually pluck

Noooo don’t cut it. There must be something you can do that would have a better regrowth situation. Eg that laser thing you can do?

Hopefully my widows peak might make you feel better 😄 I basically never thought about mine before. Get it from my dad!

Please don't cut it off. It is a symbol of beauty in my country(Japan). I wish I had one. Many attractive celebrities have one like yours such as Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, Blake Lively, Brooke Shields, Mila Jovovich, Monica Belluci etc

Where the red circles are, the skin is a different colour.

Don’t do it! It’s pretty common to have a widow’s peak.

itsmylife7 · 19/09/2024 17:46

Yes do it.

Then come back and moan when it grows weird.

salamithumbs · 19/09/2024 18:00

No don't do it!! When I was maybe 12 I decided I hated the wispy hair that grew at my sideburn area and cut it off...when it started to grow back it looked ludicrous and I had to keep trimming it again and again 😫 no matter what I did it looked insane! Just leave it, no one will have even noticed it except you

Tagyoureit · 19/09/2024 18:04

Sorry but why would you do this yourself?
🤣🤣🤣

To be honest the thing I first noticed about the photos is how different your hair colour looks. You’re blonde in the loose hair pic but completely dark in the tied back hair pic. I actually think what you may benefit from is a round of hairline highlights, which would likely lighten the tuft of hair you’re concerned about anyway and therefore make it less noticeable.

RuthW · 19/09/2024 18:14

No one notices a Widdow's Peak. I have one. Just off to see if dd has one
