To cut the front piece of my hair off? With pics

More noticeable when I’ve used a headband but I have an uneven hairline.

I’m tempted to just cut off that small piece at the front. But realise I’ll have to keep cutting it forever or I’ll have a tuff.

Help please before I grab the scissors.

There are a lot of weird posts today by snappy posters, ask question then get snappy with people replying.

so weird

anyway, it's a few strands of hair, just swipe it to the side with the rest 🤷🏻‍♀️

I know, right?! Weird.

You’re obviously set on doing it OP, so just do it then come back and show us the pics every month foreverrrr 😆

Firstly, its an odd thing to want to do, but if you really must - dont cut of shave it as it will be really noticeable and look strange, with tiny hairs and black stubble. If you really want to remove it, either wax it, thread it or do electrolysis. Or, indeed, pluck it.

Creamcarpetandwhitewalls · 19/09/2024 18:33

Having read the full thread, I think you should go for it.

Shadow1986 · 19/09/2024 18:35

My friend at school used to shave that bit off, looked really silly when it started to grow back so I’d advise not to.

EngineEngineNumber9 · 19/09/2024 18:37

I did this as a teen - but I didn’t cut it, I plucked it 🤣 I carried on for a while but then got sick of it and had to grow out the tuft. DON’T.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 19/09/2024 18:45

Backcomb and shape into a horn, it'll look ace 🦄

You’re clearly very aggy, OP. The loud and clear message is people think you should leave it alone. If you don’t want to, who cares, but you asked and got answers.

Krumblina · 19/09/2024 23:52

I'm a beauty therapist and some ppl ask for it threaded.
Cutting it would be tufty but you could get it threaded or tweeze it.
I like a widows peak but if you want to then those are the best options.

Balloonhearts · 20/09/2024 00:34

I have one too, it's annoying but you'll have a constant regrouping tuft and will be shaving it every 5 minutes. If you have a slightly off centre parting, that makes it behave.

Because I don’t need comments of no one even notices because if I do or don’t cut it then I’m doing it because I want to - what does it matter if everyone in the world notices or no one does? I

What were you hoping for? You've got 100% of posters voting not to do it and a lot of practical and emotional advice about why not. If you want to do it, crack on, but I'm not sure what folks have done wrong in answering your question.

If you do want advice then I'm another saying fuck no don't do that, its a teeny widows peak. Millions of people have them - I've got a small cows lick as well so not a defined hairline at all. It's not remotely a problem to be worth the faff of shaving your forehead daily for the next 60 years or at some point realising that's insane and growing out the tuft.

AbraAbraCadabra · 20/09/2024 00:49

That's not an uneven hairline. Hairlines are supposed to look like that.

SailingOnAWave · 20/09/2024 00:51

I had a widows peak much much bigger than this. I gradually plucked it over time and it's never grown back!

Peasnbeans · 20/09/2024 00:53

It's quite softening tbh. Keep it, but manage it however you can.

shakeitoffshakeacocktail · 20/09/2024 11:06

@Josephinesnapoleon

It's actually there! And not even central on my head!

Very reassuring to see how many people have shaved their hairline as a kid - me included.

I have a widow's peak and 'baby hair' around the front of my hairline that never grows as long as the rest of it. It's annoying but normal. Think yourself lucky, anyway. My curse is the bits over my ears that stick out like tufts when it's windy. See Dr Snuggles for reference.

StarGirrrl77 · 20/09/2024 11:18

No! Please don't! I did exactly this when I was around 15 or something, along with my sideburns, and I looked mad for months and months. It looks absolutely fine to me, and I understand that it doesn't look fine to you, but I assure you, you will regret it.

Beth216 · 20/09/2024 11:25

I thin kit would be a terrible idea and you won't be able to cut it you'll need to pluck it - ouch.

AlderGirl · 20/09/2024 11:28

Absolutely do not cut it off! Get a hair slide until it grows out. There are some beautiful ones on Etsy

softmauve · 20/09/2024 11:42

You have a widows peak. It's a beautiful hairline that I'd love to have.

alinetokill · 20/09/2024 11:52

I would plait it into the other bits.

spiderlight · 20/09/2024 12:02

I did it when I was younger with a random curly cowlick at the front of my hair (which was much more noticeable than yours, which looks absolutely fine) and it was a pain for years and had to be cut almost daily or it was really noticeable. I grew it out again in the end, which involved having a fringe to hide it for about five years. My fingers still subconsciously drft to that spot to look for stubble about thirty years later!

Firstly that’s true of many things of many people. We’re the ones looking in the mirror so yes we do tend to notice things others would not.

I don’t do things to my appearance for anyone but me. I don’t care if others notice it or not. I notice it and it bugs me.

I was trying to be kind! You are right, don’t do anything for others. My comment was in kindness in a it’s not as noticeable or awful as you think way.

Because I don’t need comments of no one even notices because if I do or don’t cut it then I’m doing it because I want to - what does it matter if everyone in the world notices or no one does?

Again in kindness, why ask? Do it if it you want to and it makes you feel better about yourself. You opened with…
Help please before I grab the scissors.

Hopefully today is less stressful for you.

TinaYouFatLard · 20/09/2024 12:07

I’m sure one of the Kardashians had their widow’s peak permanently removed. I wonder if electrolysis would work.

That aside, it looks fine as it is but up to you.

HappyDane · 20/09/2024 12:09

I've changed my mind.

Do it!
