Pringles taste different!

Potpuree · 18/09/2024 20:12

at first I thought it was a bad tub but every tub I’ve had over the last few weeks has tasted the same!! Has anyone else noticed Pringles taste different recently? Specifically the original/ready salted ones? They used to be my favourite crisp and now something just doesn’t taste right at all! Please tell me I’m not imagining it and someone else has noticed it too, haha

Oh brilliant I hadn’t seen that, thanks!

They’re ganky now. Sort of stale oil taste…

KimberleyClark · 18/09/2024 20:19

They are crap anyway. Contain less than 50% actual potato.

LucilleBlutheWink · 18/09/2024 20:21

Mini cheddars have changed too😟

Idontjetwashthefucker · 18/09/2024 20:21

I bought a small tub of sour cream ones at Brisbane airport last year, tasted like utter shite. Thought I'd got a bad tub and haven't had any since...I'm glad now

Idontjetwashthefucker · 18/09/2024 20:23

Just read the link above, mine weren't salty at all, in fact, they tasted like their was no seasoning on them whatsoever. The disappointment

MissEloiseBridgerton · 18/09/2024 20:23

Aldi ones are the best!

CanwetalkaboutRalph · 18/09/2024 21:37

Yes, I bought a small tube a couple of weeks ago and was convinced they were out of date (they weren't).
Won't be buying them anymore.

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 18/09/2024 22:12

I have found my people! I grabbed a handful from a brand new tub this afternoon and the salt near caused my expiration. My mouth is blistered and has an awful aftertaste. They're coated in thick, horrible salty stuff that I could still smell on my skin. I won't be buying again, which is a travesty. Aldi dupes all the way from now on.

Doltontweedle · 18/09/2024 22:18

I haven’t noticed a huge change in the taste, but they’ve gone thin as fuck. I used to like putting a whole one in my mouth and then snapping it in half with my tongue, now they immediately crumble when you put them in your mouth

mum2jakie · 18/09/2024 22:20

Yes, vile now!! At least it's stopped me eating a whole tub 🙃 No more Pringles for me

Piratepearl · 19/09/2024 16:11

I've just thought exactly this! Brand new tube of Original flavour Pringles and they were super salty with a coating on them and had a slightly strange taste!

Mumistiredzzzz · 04/10/2024 20:21

I've just opened a new pack and they taste weird, can't quite put my finger on it but they're not the same 😞

vroc81 · 04/10/2024 20:26

Salt and vinegar ones have a weird taste too… thought it was just me!

BedBathAndBeyonce · 04/10/2024 20:31

Lidl ones are good and GF

Chateauneufdu · 04/10/2024 20:33

Yep horrible and chemically

TheBelleOfBelfastCity · 04/10/2024 20:36

I bought some the other day for the first time in years - they were disgusting, so chemically and just didn’t feel like food. They’ve lost the addictive quality too. I’m not sure if it’s a recipe change or if we’re all just more conscious of overly processed foods?

NeverTooEarlyForChocolate · 04/10/2024 20:36

The green ones are yucky too - they seem to crumble and have too much of a powdery coating.

DucksAndBubbles · 06/10/2024 10:04

Bought one of the new tubes of original Pringles the other day. They do taste completely different. They have changed the recipe. Previously it was just salt. Now it's "salt seasoning" a mixture of a bunch of ingredients. They are are pretty rank, so no more Pringles for me!

itsnotabouthepasta · 14/10/2024 12:09

I’ve just opened a pack. Me, DH and the kiddos all said how awful the ready salted now are,

what have they done differently???

DalRiata · 14/10/2024 12:14

Yes they are nasty now! So many things are now. It's a shame but forces me to eat healthier.

fashionqueen0123 · 14/10/2024 12:17

Yes we had some red plain ones and DH commented on how boring they were and tasted like cheap crisps. The green ones I love but I also thought they had gone a bit funny!

Packingboxesneeded · 14/10/2024 12:20

I wouldn’t normally buy them for myself because once opened I wouldn’t leave them alone. I only buy them occasionally if I have visitors. There was half a tub left recently after the family went home. They tasted so unappealing it lay untouched all week till I eventually binned them. I thought it was just me till I read this thread.

DwightDFlysenhower · 14/10/2024 12:23

I thought a recent tube of originals tasted almost like salt and vinegar. They seemed to have a thicker powdery coating of the "salt" too.
